Aneya has shattered long-standing institutional barriers by becoming the first female athlete in Gray Collegiate Academy history to earn a Division I basketball scholarship. In doing so, she has etched her name into the state record books as the very first female basketball recruit from the entire state of South Carolina to commit to Presbyterian College Women’s Basketball.
But if you only measure Aneya by her athletic dominance, surpassing the elite 1,000 career point milestone, averaging 19.6 points and 10.7 rebounds per game, or being named a highly coveted South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (SCBCA) Class AAAA All-State selection, you completely miss the gravity of what makes her story unheard of.

Aneya comes from an underserved area where the gravity of systemic cycles pulls down even the brightest talents. It is an environment where survival is a daily negotiation, and the odds are heavily stacked against long-term success. Instead of letting her surroundings dictate her limitations, Aneya chose an unprecedented path of fierce self-discipline, using basketball as a shield and education as a weapon.
What makes her ascent truly remarkable is her absolute refusal to sacrifice her intellect for her athleticism. While running the court as a premier varsity standout, she quietly maintained a staggering 4.64 unweighted Grade Point Average (GPA) (3.86 weighted). She is a standout member of the National Honor Society and is currently awaiting formal acceptance into the Beta Club. She is the ultimate personification of the elite scholar-athlete.
Her historic trajectory has not been solitary. It has taken a fiercely protective village to build a champion. Backed by the unwavering love of her parents, Leah Martin and Anthony Britt, alongside an elite development circle including Jerry Macon, Jerome Dickerson, former South Carolina basketball star Brandon Wallace, Coach Major, Coach B, and Coach Killian, Aneya transformed raw, localized potential into statewide history.
Crucially, every single time she laces up her sneakers, she plays to keep the legacy of her late uncle, Caleb Martin, alive, turning her deepest grief into a relentless, unstoppable on-court fire.
