Feeling like everything is going wrong just as you’re trying to move forward? You might be more aligned than you think. In this article, I share five powerful signs that you're on the right path, based on my real journey through debt, heartbreak, reinvention, and starting over in business.

Woman in blue shirt stands at a forked path, facing green hills under a clear blue sky, conveying a sense of choice and exploration.

Before I built a business helping entrepreneurs find clarity in their finances, I went through almost every challenge life could throw at me, and more than once, I questioned whether I was cut out for any of it.

From a string of job positions to facing bankruptcy and debt, from navigating heartbreak to separating from a business partner and starting again alone, my path was far from smooth. But every challenge became a stepping stone, and every time I followed my inner voice, no matter how uncertain things looked, I ended up stronger, more aligned, and more capable of helping others.

Today, I work with small business owners who are often in the middle of their own chaos: growing businesses, unclear finances, self-doubt, or transitions. I’ve come to believe that the signs we’re doing the right thing often don’t look like success right away. They look like breakdowns before breakthroughs.

5 signs I’ve learned that show you’re on the right path, even when it doesn’t feel like it

1. Everything starts to get worse

When you begin to make bold decisions, life often tests you. Suddenly, things fall apart: relationships shift, finances tighten, and doubts creep in. But this destruction isn’t failure; it’s the shedding of what no longer fits. Growth starts in the rubble.

2. You must sacrifice something

Whether it’s comfort, outdated beliefs, certain relationships, or a version of yourself that kept you small, alignment requires space. And space is made through sacrifice. Letting go of something now often leads to something better later.

3. Everything starts to feel easier

After the initial resistance, you begin to flow. You trust your intuition more. The decisions feel more natural. The anxiety lessens. When you're aligned with your purpose, your actions have power behind them, and that’s when momentum builds.

4. Everything begins to grow

Once you're in sync with your path, growth follows. For me, this looked like expanding my client base, building a trustworthy team, and finally feeling proud of the business I created. Growth doesn’t always mean massive results at once; sometimes, it’s just consistency that finally starts to pay off.

5. You begin to understand life’s cycles

You no longer panic when things fall apart. You learn to ride the wave instead of fighting it. You understand that winter must come before spring, and endings make room for beginnings. This wisdom changes everything in business and in life.

Following your inner voice isn’t just for you; it creates a ripple effect. When we’re brave enough to live our truth and share our gifts, we inspire others to do the same. Our growth contributes to the healing of our communities and the people we serve.

For me, that purpose now lies in helping entrepreneurs feel empowered and at ease with their finances. When business owners feel safe and clear about their money, they can show up fully, and that creates a lasting impact.

So, if you’re wondering whether the struggle means you’re off track, maybe it’s a sign you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
