Stephen Cole is the founder of TeamWeave, which supports teams to build trust, connection and performance through simple, human-centred practices and ways of working. With a background in engineering and more than two decades of leadership and facilitation experience, Stephen brings a grounded, practical approach to workplace culture and the human skills that support it.
 
Teams working with Stephen begin with the simple, practical practice of regular team check-ins, where each person in the team can share how they are and what’s happening for them. The focus is on people, not tasks or projects, unless work is personally affecting someone. This supports teams to build a healthy culture together and develop core human skills such as listening, speaking authentically, empathy and shared leadership.
 
Teams are then supported to bring these qualities into their everyday work. This approach is highly practical and does not rely on complex culture change strategies.
 
Stephen previously led a small Australian engineering consultancy where regular team check-ins were a core part of how the team worked together. He has taken part in more than 600 check-ins and led over 180, experiencing first-hand how trust and culture are shaped by what is lived in everyday interactions.
 
Through TeamWeave, Stephen shares learning through articles, practical resources and structured learning programs. He is also the author of the free Guide to Team Check-ins for Workplaces, designed to help teams get started and to use as an ongoing reference.
 
Stephen lives in Australia and works with teams across a range of sectors worldwide who are seeking more human, effective and fulfilling workplaces.
