Selma Makic
Self-Leadership & Mindset Coach
Selma Makic is a Mindset and Self-Leadership Coach, psychosocial counselor, NLP Trainer, and educator whose work explores the patterns that shape identity, emotions, and behavior.
Having moved from Bosnia to Austria at the age of six, Selma learned early what it meant to adapt, take responsibility, and navigate different worlds. This experience later sparked a deeper fascination with a question that now lies at the heart of her work: How much of who we are is truly chosen—and how much was learned?
With a background in education, counseling, NLP, and systemic work, as well as a Bachelor of Education in English and French, Selma combines psychological insight with practical approaches to personal development. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics, further exploring the connection between language, thought, emotion, and identity.
Today, her work focuses particularly on women navigating perfectionism, people-pleasing, over-responsibility, and the tendency to lose themselves in relationships. Rather than simply changing behavior, Selma encourages women to understand where their patterns came from, what purpose they once served, and whether they still belong in the life they want to create.
Her philosophy: Growth is not about becoming someone new. It is about becoming conscious enough to choose who you want to be.
