Mo Ford

Embodied Communication Coach and Facilitator

Mo Ford (she/they) is a coach, facilitator and consultant with expertise and training in a range of Whole Person approaches. She offers an embodied, psychologically-informed perspective to support clients to communicate with courage, prevent burnout and create inclusive spaces.

Mo has over twenty years' experience in the UK charity sector, where she supported clients facing complex challenges and traumatic experiences, as well as leading teams and implementing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.

Mo holds qualifications and training in areas including Coaching, Performance Psychology, Breathwork, Embodied Voice, Somatic Trauma Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Whole Person Leadership. She also holds an MSc in Childhood Studies and an MA in Indigenous Religions.

Mo has also been involved in performance (especially singing) throughout their life. They began singing at an early age and attended a specialist music school for part of their secondary education. Mo has always been interested in the links between music, self-expression and therapeutic practices, but became especially invested in this after seriously injuring their voice in their twenties. Mo found that the tools offered to them as part of this recovery were so powerful that they decided to train as a practitioner. Mo has since delivered Singing for Wellbeing and Embodied Communication programmes for a range of groups, including leaders and coaches, LGBTQI asylum seekers, and homeless people.

Mo is passionate about building and contributing to inclusive spaces where people feel authentically seen, heard and valued. She is interested in taking innovative, holistic approaches to removing barriers to inclusion, and has a particular focus on bringing Embodied Communication practices into projects that aim to address inclusion and social justice issues. Mo is part of a group of practitioners currently developing innovative programmes focused on taking an embodied approach to leading social change.

Mo offers individual coaching sessions, group work, retreats and organisational consultancy/training. She is originally from Scotland but lives in London and has worked around the UK and beyond. Mo enjoys live music, spending time by the sea, and singing around campfires.
