Matt Little

Psychotherapist, Addiction & Clinical Director

Matt Little is a psychotherapist, addiction specialist, and Clinical Director of Pesona Jiwa – Charm of the Soul, a private mental health and wellbeing retreat in Bali, Indonesia. He is also the Director of Empowering Awareness Counselling & Consultancy, where he provides psychotherapy, professional education, and consultancy services across the mental health sector.

With more than 15 years of experience in counselling, psychotherapy, addiction treatment, and behavioural health, Matt has worked with individuals facing trauma, burnout, addiction, anxiety, depression, grief, executive stress, and complex emotional challenges. His clinical approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and grounded in current neuroscience, combining evidence-based psychotherapy with nervous system regulation to support lasting recovery rather than symptom management alone.

Matt holds a Master's degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice and is an International Certified Addictions Professional (ICAP-I), a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), an Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), and an Advanced Practitioner with the Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists. He is also certified by the Polyvagal Institute, reflecting his specialist interest in the role of the autonomic nervous system in mental health and recovery.

Throughout his career, Matt has supported executives, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, creatives, and public figures from around the world, delivering highly personalised, confidential care. His writing explores the intersection of trauma, addiction, burnout, emotional wellbeing, and nervous system regulation, translating complex psychological concepts into practical, accessible guidance.

Matt's mission is to challenge outdated approaches to mental health by helping people understand that sustainable recovery begins with safety, connection, and compassionate, evidence-informed care. Through his clinical work, education, and published articles, he aims to make high-quality psychological knowledge accessible to individuals, families, and professionals worldwide.
