Mark Welch
Australian Visas & Global CBI Advisor
Mark Welch
Australian immigration & Global Citizenship by Investment (CBI) advisor.
In 2002, and out of nowhere, Mark Welch had to find a new career. He was living in the UK, away from his native country of Australia. Having returned from his honeymoon, he found out that he didn’t have his job anymore as a Client Manager in the telecommunications industry. His employer had been acquired, and a number of jobs were let go.
Fortuitously, he found work quickly. After a fast-track learning experience, he began advising businesses, individuals, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals on visa options for Australia. As well as New Zealand, Canada & the USA.
What started as a stop gap solution, ended in a professional career spanning over 20 years, working in 3 countries.
He began his immigration career working for a specialist immigration business for 6 years. Followed by 5 years with Deloitte in Australia and the Czech Republic in the Global Employer Services (GES) team as an Account Director and Operations Director. Before he established his own business in 2014.
In addition to the Commerce degree from the University of Newcastle in Australia, he also has professional qualifications from the Migration Institute of Australia, and consequently, since 2005, has been registered with the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA) in Australia.
He has been fortunate to be asked to present to members of the Australian Human Resources Institute & the Australian Tax Institute. He has been a multiple presenter to Master's students at the University of Sydney Business School. As well as holding industry advisory roles in discussions with the Department of Home Affairs, conducting roadshows with state governments and presenting seminars with the Immigration Minister and industry bodies.
His services cover a wide range of visa options. For Australia, it includes working with highly talented individuals (Distinguished or Global Talent), employer-sponsored visas, business owners, investors, and individuals. His corporate clients have included national broadcasters, world sporting organizations, TV & Film personalities and internationally recognised entrepreneurs, authors and designers.
Since the turn of the decade, and working with distinguished global partners, he has advised and supported applicants and their families looking to move to, or obtain Citizenship for a second, sometimes third, country. These programs are generally called Citizenship by Investment (CBI).
Applicants are usually driven by political issues (such as Brexit), lifestyle, financial, or long-held ambition to move to the country of their choice. The CBI countries are across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Caribbean.
Mark is driven by finding solutions or his clients. To hear their stories & plans and assist them in obtaining a visa to plan and then start their new life. Or to enable businesses to expand beyond new countries, or fulfill recently won contracts.
It can take time, it can have hurdles, it can involve red tape, and can involve lots of planning and can be emotional. It involves honesty from both sides and a willingness to work together as a team.
