Dr. Kali Foster

Somatic Therapist & Chinese Medicine Practitioner

Dr. Kali Foster is a Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Somatic Trauma Therapist with over 25 years of experience in body-based healing. She is the founder of Kallista Mind-Body Medicine, a long-established clinic in Victoria’s Dandenong Ranges, where she has supported thousands of people through acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and somatic therapy.

Kali’s approach has evolved through decades of professional practice, alongside her own lived experience of trauma, healing and profound personal transformation. Her work integrates Somatic Experiencing, Brainspotting, parts work, Chinese medicine, Tantra yoga and embodied movement, bringing together traditional wisdom with contemporary understandings of trauma and nervous system regulation.

She is particularly interested in the relationship between the body, nervous system, sexuality, pleasure and our capacity for authentic connection. Her own journey has included deep healing from trauma, spiritual awakening and the emergence of capacities for pleasure, aliveness and embodied connection that had previously been inaccessible to her. This lived experience deeply informs her work and her belief in the transformative potential of the body and neuroplasticity.

Kali is the creator of Art of Touch cards, a somatic card deck designed to support couples in exploring touch, connection and embodied intimacy. She is also developing trauma-informed professional training for acupuncturists and offers professional mentoring for practitioners wanting to deepen their embodied and trauma-aware approach to practice.

Alongside her clinical work, Kali offers individual somatic trauma therapy online and develops group programs that bring her work beyond the therapy room. Across all of her work, she is passionate about supporting people to move beyond patterns of disconnection, protection and survival towards greater presence, vitality, pleasure and self-awareness.
