Joey describes her relationship to becoming a healer as something that grabbed her by the hair and wouldn't let go, regardless of how hard she kicked and screamed. "You is, what you is. The greatest gift you can give yourself is to find out what that really means." That’s her philosophy and how she ended up as one of the most sought after medicine guides in California is unique to say the least.Joey's initial career started on stage and in front of the camera for over 2 decades of success as a professional dancer and actress. Then life had other plans and gave her a brush with death as she was hit by a car on her bicycle in Vancouver, Canada. This forced her to take a step back from performing and focus solely on healing her head and her body from the tragedy that stopped her in her tracks. Because of her unique performing background and elite relationship to her dancer body, Joey became a candidate for progressive and non- traditional therapies. Self regulation therapy, plant medicine ceremonies, micro dosing, breath work, reiki, acupuncture, cranial sacral work, yoga and meditation all brought Joey back from a severe concussion, broken collar bone and fractured femur. These healing modalities then became daily practices and tools in her extensive tool box. Joey then landed in Los Angeles and continued to teach dance and act. After a particular dance class a psychologist approached her: “ I've never met anyone who genuinely loves their body the way that you do and how you articulate it. Would you be willing to create a somatic program for addicts at a progressive addiction recovery center in Venice, CA?" It was an opportunity she could not say no to and the gift of working side by side with some of the best therapists on the planet offered Joey a real time education in psychology, medicine work and energy healing as she worked with hundreds of clients. This type of education isn't something she took lightly in her 8 years at the center, as her experience and her own ability to walk the walk of self growth speaks far louder than any perceived letters behind her name.Joey dedicated herself to discovering and honoring "what it means to be me" and helps others navigate the curriculum of their own lives and their connection to self through her organization, Sentience. Joey provides four day transformational group retreats, private and couples work as well as has an ongoing clientele that receive weekly guidance in relationship to discovering their own innate authenticity, peace and joy.The gift she gave herself at such a young age, to never abandon her dreams allowed for life to genuinely guide her into fulfilling her purpose on the planet.
