Dr. Jessica Herbert, PCC
Executive Coach
Dr. Jessica Herbert, PCC, is an executive coach, organizational strategist, and founder of two mission-driven companies. Over 27 years, she has held every seat at the table — investigator, data analyst in cybersecurity, data scientist and researcher, academic and instructor, nationwide consultant, and trusted coach for executives. That full stack is what sets her perspective apart. She does not write from the outside looking in. She has done the job, analyzed the data, built the models, taught the methods, and led the change across the country.
Through IDEA Analytics, Dr. Herbert delivers digital transformation and organizational change consulting to government and public safety agencies. Her proprietary DTAC methodology — aligning leadership, people, and technology — has been field-tested across 100+ projects in 36 states. Through Asbatra Coaching, she guides executives and leaders in transition from reactive to strategic, from technical expert to influential leader, from operator to CEO strategist. Her approach is evidence-based, never intuition alone. She draws on established frameworks and grounds every engagement in measurable outcomes. She is an ICF Professional Certified Coach and certified Maxwell Leadership team member. She holds a PhD in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Arizona State University, a master’s in Security Studies from Johns Hopkins University, and a bachelor’s in Administration of Justice and Sociology from George Mason University.
Dr. Herbert has authored 70+ publications and hosts the Leading in Balance podcast. In 2025, she received Arizona State University’s Dr. Marie Griffin Distinguished Alumni Award. She writes plainly because the leaders she serves cannot afford academic distance from the decisions in front of them. Her throughline: everything is possible — it’s finding the steps and the momentum to get there.
