Mental Performance Consultant

Jess Lapachinski is an athletic administrator, mental performance consultant, and writer with over 20 years of experience in private and higher education. She has worked with athletes in elite academic and athletic environments, supporting leadership development and mental skills training that enhances performance, builds resilience, and creates confidence. As a certified strength and conditioning coach through the NSCA, Jess integrates physical preparation with mental strategies to support the holistic development of athletes.

Jess founded Victory Lap Mindset, a mental performance consulting practice that helps athletes build strong minds to support strong athletic performance. Her leadership philosophy combines the business of sport with a deep commitment to athlete development. Jess brings a unique perspective to performance improvement, recognizing that mental skills are often the key difference-maker in sport, especially as the level of competition intensifies.

In addition to her private practice, Jess serves as the Associate Director of Athletics at Amherst College. A lifelong athlete herself, she has always been fascinated by sport performance and mental resilience. Her interest in performance psychology was sparked while teaching 9th-grade health and working with youth athletes at Deerfield Academy.

Jess holds a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts, a master’s degree in Sport Leadership from Northeastern University, and a second master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Springfield College. She is currently pursuing her Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) credential through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.
