Ella Amory
Professional Rugby Player
Ella Amory was born on April 13th, 2001, at St. Pieters Hospital in Brussels. She is the youngest in a family of four, with two brothers in the middle. With two brothers, everything was a race, a fight, a competition. Naturally, she became active and competitive through her upbringing. At the age of 10, she began playing rugby at Boitsfort Rugby Club, where she was the only girl in her age group for four years. At 15, she attended trials for the U18s national 7s team and was selected. At 16, she became Belgian champion with the ladies’ team at her club, and at 17, while captaining the U18s 7s team, she earned her first international cap for Belgium 7s in the European Championship, where she got a taste of high-level rugby. That taste left her eager for more.
She graduated from high school at 18, and with all her siblings graduating from medical school, the question her parents asked was, “What doctor do you want to be?” “A rugby doctor,” she replied. Her desire to pursue rugby, combined with the family pressure to succeed, led Ella to the best club in the world: Harlequins Women. She moved away from home at 18, learned English, and then went to Surrey University to study Business Management, all while playing at the highest level in the world: the English Premiership.
Five years later, she combined her knowledge of Business Management with her passion for rugby to develop the Offload Agency, a recruitment platform for female rugby players. This platform allows players to connect with clubs, universities, and unions around the world in just a few clicks. Ella is a leader in her life, passionate, driven, and determined to take everyone along with her. She dreams of a world where Offload is the hub of women’s rugby for connections, recruitment, and work opportunities.
