Midlife Aliveness Coach
Deni is a Midlife Aliveness Coach whose work brings together psychology, coaching, movement and embodied practice to help women participate more fully in their own lives.
With a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, accreditation as a Life Coach and 500 hours of yoga teacher training, Deni’s professional life has long centred around people, learning and change. Before moving into coaching and embodied work, she spent 30 years teaching music. She has since taught yoga for six years and trained as a Sound Practitioner, developing an approach that recognises that meaningful change rarely happens through thinking alone.
Today, Deni works primarily with women in midlife who have built good, full lives and are often the capable, dependable people others rely on. Nothing is necessarily wrong. Yet underneath everything that works, there can be a persistent thought: “Surely there’s more than this?”
Her particular interest is the gap between wanting and doing. The women she works with often know far more about what they want than they give themselves credit for. The difficulty is what happens next. A desire surfaces, then the negotiation begins. Is it practical? Is now the right time? What will everyone else think? Does it really matter that much?
It happens in ordinary ways: the trip that remains an idea, the conversation repeatedly rehearsed, the thing she’d love to try but worries she won’t be good at, the Saturday she nearly keeps for herself, the change she keeps promising she’ll make one day. Over time, a woman can become remarkably good at talking herself out of the very things that would make her life feel more like her own.
Through coaching, movement and nervous system awareness, Deni helps women recognise that moment and stay with what they know long enough to do something with it. The work isn’t about making dramatic changes for the sake of change. It is about allowing more of what matters to make its way into the life she is already living.
At the heart of Deni’s work is a simple belief: a life doesn’t have to be wrong before you’re allowed to want more from it. Midlife can be an opportunity to stop continually postponing what makes you feel alive and begin finding out what happens when more of what you want makes it into your actual life.
