Knikki Hernandez spends much of her time asking questions, helping people untangle complex ideas, and exploring the remarkable potential that exists within every human being. Whether she is working with a student, interviewing a guest on her podcast, or observing the world around her, she is driven by a profound and insatiable curiosity about what makes people think, grow, struggle, adapt, and ultimately thrive.
An educator, writer, entrepreneur, and podcast host, Knikki believes that every person possesses unique gifts, strengths, and perspectives that often remain hidden beneath self-doubt, limiting beliefs, or educational systems that prioritize conformity over individuality. Her work is centered on helping people discover those gifts, develop confidence in their own thinking, and cultivate the courage to express themselves authentically.
As the founder of Turning The Tide Tutoring and New Generations Academy, Knikki has dedicated her career to creating learning experiences that go far beyond grades and test scores. While strong writing, communication, and critical thinking skills are important, she sees them as vehicles for something deeper: helping people better understand themselves, connect with others, and engage more fully with the world around them. She believes education is at its best when it awakens curiosity rather than merely delivers information.
Knikki's fascination with human potential extends beyond education. Through The Gentle Year Podcast, she explores the many dimensions of personal growth, learning, psychology, parenting, faith, resilience, creativity, and the human experience. She is especially drawn to conversations that challenge assumptions, reveal hidden truths, and inspire people to see themselves and others through a more thoughtful lens.
At her core, Knikki is endlessly fascinated by people. She believes every individual has a story worth hearing and wisdom worth sharing. That same sense of wonder extends to the natural world and the animals that inhabit it, reminding her daily that there is far more to learn than any one person could uncover in a lifetime.
She is also deeply motivated by achievement and excellence, not as a pursuit of status or recognition, but as an expression of what becomes possible when people fully develop their abilities. She is inspired by those who strive, create, build, overcome obstacles, and pursue meaningful goals with passion and integrity. To her, success is not measured by titles or accolades, but by growth, contribution, and the willingness to become a little better than you were yesterday.
Above all, Knikki's work is guided by a simple belief: human beings are far more capable, resilient, intelligent, and extraordinary than they often realize. Her mission is to help people uncover that truth for themselves.
