David G. Starlyte

Contemplative Psychotherapist & Retreat Leader

David G. Starlyte is a contemplative psychotherapist and retreat leader specialising in psychological suffering, complex trauma, and human development. His work sits at the intersection of phenomenology, Buddhist psychology, and clinical practice, with a focus on the lived experience of self and the underlying structures that give rise to suffering.

He holds a Master of Arts in Applied Buddhist Studies (magna cum laude) and a Master’s degree in Mental Health, alongside formal training in naturopathic medicine. His academic and clinical work explores the phenomenology of emptiness (śūnyatā), identity construction, and the role of belonging in shaping psychological experience.

Over the past two decades, David has worked internationally across more than ten countries, with experience spanning clinical settings, contemplative environments, and leading global wellness brands. His professional background includes work with internationally recognised organisations such as Six Senses, Aman Resorts, Chiva-Som, The Ritz-Carlton, One&Only Resorts, and Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, where he worked with high-performing and international clientele within elite wellness contexts.

His approach is grounded, relational, and depth-oriented, moving beyond symptom reduction to engage the structural and existential dimensions of human life. He works primarily with high-functioning individuals navigating complexity, transition, and questions of identity and meaning.

In addition to private advisory work, David is developing a body of writing and research focused on the architecture of suffering and the conditions for psychological transformation. His work has been published in academic and professional contexts, and he contributes to contemporary discussions at the intersection of contemplative traditions and modern psychology.
He works with a limited number of clients internationally and is currently developing immersive retreats designed as high-trust environments for deep psychological and contemplative integration.
