Char Scheuermann is an Independent Irlen Diagnostician, educator, and advocate dedicated to helping individuals overcome the challenges associated with Irlen Syndrome and visual processing difficulties. As the founder of Irlen Clinic Northeast, she provides mobile Irlen services throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and beyond, bringing Irlen Screenings, Diagnostic Testing, and Filter Check appointments directly to clients in their homes.
 
Char's passion for Irlen Syndrome is deeply personal. Her journey began when members of her own family, including two of her sons, were identified with Irlen Syndrome. Seeing firsthand the profound impact that Irlen Spectral Filters and accommodations could have on reading, learning, comfort, and daily life inspired her to pursue specialized training and dedicate her career to helping others find answers to challenges that are often overlooked or misunderstood.
 
Before becoming an Irlen Syndrome Diagnostician, Char served as an officer in the United States Air Force, where she developed a strong foundation in leadership, service, problem-solving, and a commitment to helping others. Those values continue to guide her work today as she advocates for individuals who may be struggling with symptoms such as light sensitivity, headaches, eye strain, reading difficulties, attention challenges, and visual stress.
 
Since becoming an Independent Irlen Diagnostician, Char has worked with children, teens, and adults from a wide range of backgrounds, helping them better understand their symptoms and discover solutions that improve their comfort, confidence, and quality of life. She is passionate about educating parents, educators, healthcare professionals, and the broader community about the often-misunderstood effects of visual processing difficulties and the life-changing difference that proper identification and intervention can make.
 
Through her work, Char's mission is simple: to provide hope, answers, and practical solutions for individuals and families who have spent years searching for an explanation for their struggles.
