Anthony Brenner

Mentor, Coach, and Writer

Anthony Brenner is a mentor, coach, and writer whose work explores the intersection of performance, awareness, and human development. A former Division I and professional athlete, Anthony’s perspective has been shaped not only by elite environments but also by decades of lived experience navigating pressure, identity, and growth on and off the field.

Born and raised in High Point, North Carolina, Anthony grew up as the oldest of six children in a highly competitive family, where responsibility, leadership, and resilience were part of daily life from an early age. He attended East Carolina University, where he began coaching while still a student, and went on to compete professionally for seven years following college.

Over time, Anthony’s work has been equally informed by personal challenges. Experiences with adversity — including profound moments within his own immediate family — deepened his understanding of emotional safety, trust, and the long arc of development. These experiences quietly reshaped how he listens, how he guides, and how he supports parents and young people navigating uncertainty, pressure, and growth.

For over three decades, Anthony has worked across a wide range of developmental and high-performance settings — from youth and academy environments to collegiate and semi-professional levels — supporting athletes, families, and leaders in cultivating clarity, confidence, and intentional growth. His work extends internationally, including guiding more than 40 players over the past decade as they explored opportunities and challenges in Europe. Rather than focusing on outcomes, Anthony uses vision as a tool for motivation, discipline, and present-moment intentionality.

What distinguishes Anthony’s work is his ability to integrate technical mastery with emotional regulation, mindfulness, and self-awareness. His background in contemplative practices informs his philosophy quietly and intentionally, helping individuals navigate pressure, setbacks, and ambition with steadiness and perspective.

Anthony is the founder of Anthony Brenner Coaching and the author of Contemplay, a reflective guide written for coaches, mentors, and leaders who influence others through their presence, language, and example. At the core of his work is a simple belief: lasting development occurs when skill, awareness, and responsibility evolve together within an environment that feels grounded, intentional, and human.
