Everybody has their unique and special personality. Everybody has their own strengths, advantages and qualities. Something what we are good at. Something that is our nature in the same time. In the same way, everyone has their weaknesses and areas that make us busy.

In this article, I will show you the connection between our personality and our naturel tendencies in clothing. You will understand how the color preferences of extroverted and introverted characters differ, as well as the specific details and style elements of individual character profiles. I believe that this will help you not only to understand your wardrobe but also to better understand the people around you.

Choleric

Choleric or the dominant type is the first one of extroverted character profiles. it is task-oriented. Because of the fact they like to be different from others and have stronger authoritative abilities, they choose strong and expressive color combinations within the wardrobe. They need “something” to set them apart. “Something” that makes it clear to people around you that they think differently and are heading high in life.

They need a choice, so they don´t like to wear the same thing over and over again. They like to change their wardrobe. Their style is gradually evolving. They are able to make changes as they go.

However, they are also very practical people, so they also need practicality within their wardrobe.

They know exactly what they want and they go for it. They have enough inner energy and determination, so they want to act confidently on the outside as well.

Sanguine

The second one of the people-oriented extroverted personality types is the so-called sanguine type or inspirational type. He likes people, entertainment and the opportunity to show attention. They always want to express. They want to feel like stars. So you won´t find the “boring” clothes and inconspicuous color combination at first glance. On the contrary, they are not afraid of yellow, red and other strong colors. They do something interesting to them that catch the eyes. Whether in color or with an original concept in general.

Life is a one big show for them, they want to have fun with life. That is why they expect their image to express through it what they are like and what emotions they are currently experiencing. At the same time, however, they may manifest themselves as carefree and inconsistent, so their image does not always seem well thought out to the smallest detail. It depends on their current mood.

Phleghmatic

The phleghmatic or the supportive type is one of the introverted character types focused on people.

He´s very friendly, kind and hearty. He doesn´t like change, conflict and unexpected surprises. Therefore, even for most of his life, he doesn´t fundamentally change his style and image. He finds what he feels comfortable about and continues in that spirit. He has his own pace, he needs enough time and not to be pushed into something he is not convinced of. Therefore, for example, visage changes and one-time image changes may not fall on fertile ground.

Image-wise, he prefers less pronounced combinations and colors, because he does not like to attract attention. He doesn't need to wear expressive accessories to draw attention to himself. He prefers warm colors and an overall friendly and warm attitude. He is the type of person who can listen and be there for others. He is a good servant.

Melancholic

The second introverted personality type, melancholic, or cautious type, is task-oriented. He is the type of person who asks a lot, he needs to understand the context. He thinks in details, which is why his image will seem thoughtful and orderly at first glance. Due to the fact that it is an introverted type focused on logic, its image can look classical or even sedentary. He is a person who will not experiment with his image. It sticks to its proven classics/certainties, and only improves it if necessary.

He tolerates quality. Therefore, he would rather have a "thinner" wardrobe composed of a few quality pieces than a wardrobe full of inferior clothes. He generally prefers richer and darker colors that help keep him from disturbing work and thinking. He often chooses patterns with geometric motifs or stripes that psychologically support rationality and logic. They will avoid the creative concept of image, rather simple and predictable.

I believe that by understanding the differences and connections between character profiles and image elements, we can better tune in to the person we communicate with. Understand his world and way of thinking. Our image is a mirror of who we are inside. As they say: "Clothes make the man”.
