The last few years have been quite unique, with many people scared and not really sure what they should do for the best for their families. When the COVID pandemic hit. The government set up guidelines to help the NHS front line staff in hospitals and emergency services, enabling them to carry out their vital work and reduce an overload, which would have happened if they didn't take these steps. Which I am sure we are all grateful for.

However, while social distancing, wearing of masks, washing hands regularly and not socialising did all help with this, the core issue is with our immune systems, which have not been helped in any way, to naturally fight off this kind of attack. Every year a new strain of flu develops around the world, which is a natural process, the WHO ( World Health Organisation ) then make an educated guess about the best vaccines to develop to help combat this in early February, ready to ship to the rest of the world for the start of the flu season in October. In 2019 the vaccine they developed had no effect on the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

So the preventative laws were passed and these drastic steps were put in place. As most medical centres around the world struggle with the normal stream of patients on a daily basis, they were totally overwhelmed with this pandemic. This constant flow of patients is mainly due to lack of education about how our lifestyle choices are causing many of the illnesses and diseases most common today, e.g. cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer's, etc. with 10 % being a genetic disorder (out of our control) but 90 % being a direct result of how our lifestyle choices are affecting our body and mind.

The importance of How our bodies work, more importantly how our immune system can be enhanced to protect against future illness and disease, has been made crystal clear in this situation, every year a new strain of flu will develop, as it has for hundreds of years before, unless we're going to repeat this lockdown system every year, getting our immune system improved to be able to fight off future health problems, is the most important thing we can do for ourselves and our families. Once we know the steps required to do this, we can take action ourselves to protect our families, these steps are covered in the book (How To Master Your Health) Using the R.E.E.D.S. system can improve our families immune system one step at a time so they are fitter and healthier and ready to defend against illness and disease in the future…

Rest

Get 8 hours of sleep at night, it’s at night time our bodies go to work repairing our minds and bodies with both REM sleep and non-REM sleep.

Eat

Your diet gives your body the ingredients it must use to create all the cells of your body, poor ingredients poor cells, good ingredients good cells. Green leafy veg, fruit and berries are a good starting point.

Exercise

When we exercise our blood flow increases to all our organs giving them the vital nutrients they need to work correctly and repair themselves, too much sitting is being classed at the new smoking for causing avoidable illness and disease. Just a 30 min walk on a daily basis, especially outside air can help all areas of the body and mind.

Drink

Our bodies only really need water, as its what makes up 60% of us, so drinking this life giving fluid can help with headaches, muscle aches, it also helps blood flow and hydrates the skin making us look younger. We can’t store it so regular drinks throughout the day are required.

Stress

Affects the body in many ways causing many illnesses and diseases, realising stress is caused by the way we THINK about a situation, not the situation itself can help reduce its effect on us and put us back in control. These simple steps can act as a guide to help build your families immune systems to enable them to protect themselves for the rest of their lives.
