I wrote a weight release program for myself and my clients. Our brains are naturally unsatisfied and need a plan to stay on track. An unsatisfied brain may overcome obstacles to reach the stars or keep us unhappy and stuck. A plan will help us achieve our goals and eliminate any rut.

One & D.O.N.E. weight release

My goal with this program is for clients to increase their self-care through eating better food, moving more, meditating, and creating a doable plan. We discuss childhood, teen, and adult triggers and accomplish emotional release and healing through hypnosis. We address time zones (when we eat, drink, or move) and location zones (where we eat, drink, or move). We tackle making challenging changes using hypnosis. Clients create a list of familiar healthy foods they like to eat. They list work and activities that help them wind down in the evening when their energy wanes. They learn to use muscle testing and their ‘yes’ or ‘no’ response to ask their body and brain what is best for them.

We do not rely on expensive health programs or products. I want to be sure my clients can maintain this plan for the rest of their lives, no matter their income status.

I help clients see food and drink for what they are so they are no longer in a state of trance when they think of, smell, or see an unhealthy substance. Amazingly, they develop a good state of trance when they see healthy food and begin to crave it!

Clients see the aisles in the grocery store differently. For example, the fruit and vegetable area feels energizing, and the cookie aisle feels too sweet and energy-draining. It is a significant accomplishment when they are at the checkout line with primarily healthy food options in their cart!

The suspension bridge metaphor

In hypnosis, I ask clients to imagine they are on a suspension bridge. The bridge is sturdy, with sides and handrails. They imagine walking to the center of the bridge. When they look behind, on land, they see and name the unhealthy foods and experiences that have gotten them to this point. They say how they feel. Then they look in front of them, where they imagine the healthiest place they can experience (real or imagined). They list all the benefits of the healthy scene. They make a choice. Do they want to walk back or move forward? Of course, they want to move forward because they are ready to change. Then, they walk toward the end of the bridge they plan to accept. My clients have yet to walk back toward the unhealthy scene. They have all chosen to walk toward a life of health and vitality. As they continue in hypnosis, they describe healthy circumstances and feelings in detail. Using the subconscious mind, we are showing the subconscious mind a new path.

Resolve

I am not a nutritionist. Clients decide what they would like to eat and drink and how they would like to move more and meditate. They come up with a doable plan and schedule. If their plan is not improving their well-being, they change one part at a time. Most of all, we discuss their resolve. When they have resolve, they will never give up and will succeed! Hypnosis makes their healthy decisions more manageable.

My healthy plan

I had food insecurity as a child and ate until full at every meal. I always felt hungry after my first child was born. I developed insulin resistance and had consistent hunger and stomach aches. In 1997, I began to understand the importance of slowly eating until I was not hungry rather than eating until full.

After having three children, I maintained an average weight for 25 years. (The controversial B.M.I. calculator categorized me as overweight.) Still working to improve my health, I hit menopause and pandemic stress. I gained 20 lbs. I created the concept of the daily My Healthy Plan and lost 14 lbs.

I listened to a book called The Power of Appetite Correction by Bert Herring. I learned the importance of an eating window. Daily eating within a specific time window rests your digestive system, gives you more energy, lowers your appetite signals, and improves your heart health. You consume extra carbs from your blood, and even better, you burn fat for energy. The plan changes your appetite signal and hormones. My appestat signal had been misfiring for 32 years, and I was desperate for a solution.

My healthy plan consists of writing on scratch paper (save the planet) when and what I want to eat and drink for the day based on my schedule and what food is available. My brain is more relaxed and empowered when I have a doable, easy-to-accomplish plan.

For example

This is how ’My Healthy Plan’ works for me. During the week, I exercise for 15 minutes a day on a vibration plate. I exercise differently on the weekend. To start my day, I have a cup of coffee with a teaspoon of olive oil, a cup of green tea, and a glass of water. I drink water during the day with a half-tablet of Nuun for electrolytes. I meditate while driving to work and spend more time meditating on weekends. Actually, my whole life feels like meditation!

I eat three small meals in a 5-hour window at 2:30 PM, 4:30 PM, and 6:30 PM. Yes, that's right. I wait until mid-afternoon to eat! I have changed my appetite signal. Eating small meals within this window prevents evening snacking (mostly). I have a cup of flavored chamomile tea in the evening. When going to a restaurant, I bring a snap-down glass container to take half of my meal home for dinner the following evening. That's it!

My stomach aches are gone, which is such a relief. I feel stronger and lighter all day long! My lifestyle allows me to eat on a schedule. If I am waiting to eat, I distract myself by getting more done! I eat to live rather than live to eat. I am saving time and money, getting more done, and taking better care of myself – a win, win, win, win!

I use a hypnosis strategy to remove addictive foods and drinks from my life. Book a free call if you would like more information.

For the foodie

This list of foods and schedule might seem more restrictive than a 'foodie' would want to manage. However, you still get to enjoy food; it is just put into perspective with what is more important: your health. This plan may seem like a diet, but it allows me to forget about snacking and overeating. I have food and drink freedom.

I check my labs yearly, and my A1C went from 5.7 (in 2007), which is a pre-diabetes level, to 5.4! Labs are my health report card, and I excitedly wait for my results!
