What does Spirit have to do with Business? We must make a living. We provide for ourselves by working. We give of our time, energy, and emotions in exchange for a paycheck. Some have created businesses that are aligned with their gifts, talents, and passions!

Spirituality can be defined as having a relationship with your spirit or soul. Spiritual is often seen as the opposite of material or physical things. I see the spiritual part of us as not opposed to material or physical things, but rather, spirit infuses material and physical things. Our business is what we do. Our spirit or soul is who we are. When we can settle the question of who we are, we will be infinitely more empowered to accomplish our business.

My Church Job

I worked as a staff pastor for 14 years. God called me into the profession. During those years, I wrestled with my spirituality. I was striving to be spiritual enough to be a pastor. When I left my church job on December 31, 2014, at 5:30 pm in the evening, I said, “Okay God, what else do you have out here (in the real world) for transformation and healing?” I just want people to be healed and transformed.

Little did I know in a few weeks, my entire worldview would change by understanding one word.

Out In The Real World

Our family went to India the next month for our daughter's wedding. I asked my son-in-law-to-be how to greet my new family in India. He put his hands together in a prayer pose and said, “Namaste.” He said Namaste means ‘the Divine in me greets the Divine in you.’

I thought, “That is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.” Instantly, I could see the Divine nature of all people. The judgment of my own spirituality and the spirituality of others instantly fell away. I saw myself and everyone as Divine.

Filled With Spirit

Oh, my goodness, being ‘filled with the spirit’ had so much spiritual weight and judgement during my Christian journey. However, for me a new light was dawning. Scientists now recognize that 99.999% of our cells are space. To understand the space in our cells, some scientists are defining that space as spirit. Every cell is filled with Spirit. Instantly, I realized how deeply God has been with me. No more striving.

I began to see my connection to God has always been true at the cellular level just by being alive! It is no wonder that we are all Divine. We are naturally infused by Spiritual Energy!

I understand the term God is problematic for some, so I often choose to use the word Love. We are all infused with Love.

But What About Evil?

Evil happens when our soul and body naturally infused with love are obscured by genetics, neurology, life experiences and difficult environments. When we cannot feel, experience, or see the Love within us and around us, we become blind to Love and lash out in pain and violence.

If we could see ourselves and each other as pure Love, we would all make better choices. Pure Love resides in the soul of every member of the human family. We each have a space within our body that is Love, an Eternal Power for the Good of All.

What Difference Would It Make?

What difference would it make in your business or work environment if you saw yourself and others as Divine? The Spirit of who we truly are will empowers us to carry out our business with passion and resolve.

Who Are We?

In the Hindu tradition, our Atman Soul is our Divine self, which is who we are for eternity past, present, and future. Our Eternal Soul is pure empowered Love. For me, feeling this pure Love inside of my body and psyche is the power I need to carry out my business well day after day. I know my dreams will come true.

Our Jiva Soul is the part of us that suffers as we live on this planet. Our Jiva Soul can be understood as the human part of us that is evolving toward Love. Humanity is the imperfect part of us we need to accept and find the empathy to forgive.

So Go Forward

So go forward from this moment knowing that you are Divine and Human. You are spiritually empowered to be and do whatever is in your heart to do. You are filled with goodness. Goodness is coming toward you always. Your dreams are coming true.

Celebrate Life! Every loving thought, intention and action in your life and business brings abundance. As you keep walking forward, somewhere in the future, who you want to be and what you want to do will meet you in the perfect present moment. This present moment becomes the Divine fulfillment that you now reach for. You will be empowered by the Spirit of Love in everything you do! You will feel happy!

I Love You!
