Imagine a world where the wisdom of ancient stones meets modern science. A place where minerals and crystals aren’t just beautiful objects, but powerful, measurable portals to deep healing and spiritual awakening. This is the essence of Stone Medicine, a practice rooted in ancient Daoist China, where stones and minerals were revered as living, energetic beings capable of awakening our highest potential, not just listed as “minerals” in our multi-vitamins. Today, in our modern age, these timeless energies are reemerging, offering us new pathways to health, clarity, and connection.
If you brush your teeth
You have already used stone medicine every day of your life. Toothpaste works because it contains Fluoride. Fluoride is the stone that remineralizes our tooth enamel. If you have ever used Tums, you’ve used Calcium to balance your acid. These are just two out of dozens of examples of stone medicine sold over the counter. We not only use it medicinally all the time, but we also must eat it daily if we want to stay alive. Minerals and metals are stones. If we don’t eat enough Iron, we become anemic. Not enough magnesium? Chronic muscle cramping. Low on Calcium? Uh oh, weak bones. The list goes on. Considering it medicinally, both physically and energetically, is where the gap in our Western understanding becomes most visible.
Energetic medicine, skeptical?
Now that we see it is undeniable that we eat and use stones daily for sustenance and physical medicine, let’s tackle the arena where stone medicine truly shines, and when I say shines, I mean quantum healing-level brilliance.
Modern science is beginning to catch up with this ancient knowledge. Studies on sacred geometry and quantum physics reveal how crystals and minerals can influence water's molecular structure, turning ordinary H2O into a charged substance capable of carrying vibrational information. Humans are mostly water. Water that can take on a healing frequency. When we prepare stone elixirs, placing stones in water with intention, we encode that water with frequencies that support healing, clarity, and energetic balance.
Take electrons, for example
Everyone who took Physical Science in high school is comfortable with the fact that electrons possess energy, kinetic due to motion, and potential due to position and charge. Those of us who took high school physics know that electrons are both waves and particles. And those who took college physics know that waves can instantly Energy Entrain under certain conditions (aka frequency), which results in spontaneous healing, also called energy or quantum healing.
Structured water
We now have advanced technological techniques that can measure water's structure before and after it has been programmed or altered by energetically interacting with stones, like atomic force microscopy, neutron scattering, and advanced spectroscopy, which are able to explore nano-scale water structuring. The most current and groundbreaking discoveries of structured water are being tested and published by Dr. Gerald Pollock.
Stone medicine calls structured water “elixirs”
The ancient Daoist craft of making healing Stone Elixirs is still practiced today. If you want to take a reputable class, I highly recommend Sarah Thomas’ Elixir class. Quantum mechanics of elixirs
Human beings emit electromagnetic fields measurable with SQUID magnetometers and MRIs. Our Average Resonant Frequency (ARF) is around 5 Hz. The healthier the person, the higher the ARF. The highest reported measured ARF is around 10 Hz. Everything has a frequency, which is the key influencer of how matter and particles behave. Health is a measurable frequency. The established and demonstrable principle of Quantum Entrainment is the activity of a lower frequency instantly entraining with a higher one. When a person creates an elixir by selecting a stone based on its healing properties, aka frequency attributes, and places full attention on the act of drinking it and absorbing/entraining with the frequency at a cellular level, we see the Observer Effect and Quantum Entraining in action. We create the conditions for our cells to entrain with the frequency of health that the structured water, aka elixir, offers. This is how one aspect of stone medicine works.
Easier to swallow
An example of these Quantum Physics principles at play with commonly accepted and proven medical technology is Red-Light Therapy. It utilizes the characteristics of the 300 – 400 THz light band frequency of Infrared to spontaneously cause entrainment and cellular regeneration. And not just any old regeneration, DNA-repaired, perfect cell regeneration. Instantly. Put another way, Red-Light Therapy is in every respect Light Medicine. And Light Medicine made it through the “go to market” process in the US faster than Stone Medicine. Why? One guess, Stone Medicine can’t be commercialized very easily. All you need to do is rockhound, bring your intention, and have a glass drinking cup in your house. Over-simplified? Maybe. But plausible.
A bridge to beyond space-time?
Scalar Waves are recognized as standing energetic patterns that transcend our dimension of Space-Time. Tesla utilized them in his research and work. He describes them as “non-hertzian waves.” Simply put, they are waves that transcend the properties of our space-time electromagnetic, electric, and sound wave forms. We see them in action when particles appear in two places simultaneously (bilocation). And in the observable phenomena of Quantum Entanglement, when two particles affect each other's frequency instantly, even across great distances and time.
Unlocking ancient frequency medicine
Stone Medicine goes beyond the familiar crystal healing practices. It’s a profound reconnecting with a tradition that sees Earth’s stones as living portals, gateways to other dimensions, sources of ancient wisdom, and catalysts for transformation. Portals tapping Scalar Waves. Like herbal medicine, stones contain vibrational signatures that influence not just our bodies, but the very fields of energy that surround and interconnect us all.
Many may wonder: Can a stone really move energy? Can it tap into realms beyond the material? The answer is yes. Indigenous cultures have long used stones to access unseen worlds, to communicate with spirits, and to catalyze healing at the cellular and spiritual levels. When we hold, meditate with, or simply connect deeply to a stone, we are engaging in a sacred dance of energy that can elevate consciousness and reawaken dormant codes within us.
Science playing catch-up
We all know that science cannot yet explain all the phenomena we see around us. And yet, the phenomena still exist. As we expand our scientific research and advance our tool technology with which to test, we come closer to aligning with what ancient Eastern wisdom has been telling us all along. We now simply better understand the mechanics of some of it.
Not so esoteric of an example
Here is a juicy entry-level Biophysics healing example of stone medicine that we don’t yet understand the mechanics of. Yet it works reliably. You’ve heard of free radicals, the unstable molecules that have unpaired electrons due to damage. We know that antioxidants have an abundance of electrons that they can donate to free radicals to stabilize them and stop the chain of damage. The electron donated by the antioxidant can jump from one molecule to another because there is energy available to do so. Holding Ocean Jasper in the palm of your hand for 20 minutes energetically gifts your body free radicals with electrons like an antioxidant. How? We don’t know yet.
Spirit of stones
According to Ancient Daoist teachings, crystals like amethysts, garnet, and fluorite are more than just beautiful; they hold geometries and energetic patterns that communicate across dimensions. They are storied gateways, holding memories and codes that can reprogram our DNA and bioenergetic fields. When we work with these stones consciously, we tune ourselves to higher frequencies, inviting profound shifts on physical, emotional, and energetic levels.
Can we prove this with science? Partially. And none of it is disproven, leaving space to believe that one day it could be. Here is a peer-reviewed study (one of many) on the National Institute of Health (NIH) PubMed demonstrating that sacred geometry has structured information that energetically dictates the form stem cells take, reliably. It supports how stones influence water, which we call Elixirs. Did we know this 20 years ago? No. Was it considered pseudoscience 20 years ago? Yes.
Practical Earth medicine
As someone who completed the Cornell Plant Medicine Program and is a topical plant medicine practitioner, I know firsthand that frequency medicine reliably works. Can science fully explain why? No. However, it still works. I have had over one hundred clients in the past few years who specifically wanted help reversing wrinkles. I know that certain plant oil mixtures regenerate collagen, elastin, lipids, and skin tissue, reversing wrinkles so dramatically that it is as if they were never there. Here is a link to before and after pictures on my website. Does science yet explain the entirety of the chemical mechanism that makes this happen? No. Does it happen reliably without side effects, no matter the gender, race, or skin type? Yes. Everyone is a little different and requires a slightly different oil recipe, true. But it works. Is part of what makes it work so well energetic? I say absolutely. Science says, “not sure”.
Health is a frequency
The biological energy in our bodies has a measurable frequency, and we have an innate ability to focus on this energy, amplify it through intention, and move it to areas of our bodies that need assistance. This is also how the ancient art of acupuncture works. It restores the proper energy flow in the meridians to assist the body in healing energetically. Can science explain this? These experiences transcend words, touching us at the soul level. Science cannot yet explain how this happens, and yet, so many of us experience this type of healing. The healing itself is measurable. The mechanism isn’t yet. Ancient wisdom teaches that stones assist in awakening subconscious memories, reconnecting us with forgotten parts of ourselves, and guiding us into states of deep presence and transformation.
