These individuals, often operating from an inflated sense of self-importance, adopt what can only be described as a “God complex,” a belief that their special relationship with the divine places them above others, making them exceptional, untouchable, and often, self-appointed moral gatekeepers.
What is perhaps most alarming is that many of these individuals are otherwise unremarkable in their accomplishments. They may lack significant achievements in their personal or professional lives, but their conviction that they are “chosen” or uniquely in tune with God gives them a sense of power. This imagined authority allows them to police the spiritual practices of others, control how others engage with the divine, and impose their narrow worldview on those around them.
The core of this issue is the belief that there is one “right” way to commune with God, a one-size-fits-all approach to spirituality. This mindset ignores the profound truth that we are nearly 9 billion people on this planet, each with our own unique path, beliefs, and relationships with the divine. To claim ownership over the spiritual lives of others is to ignore the beauty and necessity of diversity in belief systems.
Moreover, no person, regardless of their spiritual convictions, has the right to stand between you and your relationship with the divine. The relationship between an individual and God is sacred and intimate, and no one has the right to dictate or impose upon that connection.

We must remember: your relationship with the divine is yours and yours alone. No one has the right to stand in the way of that. We are all on a level playing field, every last one of us.
