What first sparked your passion for storytelling and creative expression?

I have always been drawn to storytelling to make sense of the world. From a young age, I found comfort in books, essays, and conversations that challenged perspectives. Writing became my tool to express emotions, advocate for change, and connect with people on a deeper level.

How has your journey as a writer and journalist shaped your approach to creativity?

Journalism taught me the power of truth and perspective. Writing about socioeconomic issues and amplifying unheard voices made me realise that creativity isn’t just about expression—it’s about impact. My approach is now deeply rooted in storytelling that informs, inspires, and provokes thought.

Were any pivotal moments or challenges that pushed you to fully embrace your creative identity?

Absolutely. Facing societal expectations and personal setbacks forced me to re-evaluate what truly mattered to me. One of the biggest turning points was realising that my voice—my unique perspective—was worth sharing, no matter the obstacles. That gave me the courage to fully lean into my creative journey.

How do you balance storytelling, advocacy, and business while staying true to your artistic vision?

It is about alignment. Every project I take on—whether it’s my podcast, writing, or brand collaborations—must connect to my core values. I make sure that my work is not just profitable but purposeful, ensuring that creativity and impact go hand in hand.

What inspired you to create Shades of Reality, and what message do you hope to share through it?

Shades of Reality was born out of a desire to tell raw, unfiltered stories of resilience and transformation. I wanted to create a platform where people could share their journeys—especially those who have faced hardship—and inspire others with their strength. The core message is that every struggle carries growth potential, and every voice deserves to be heard.

How has the podcast evolved since its inception, and what impact has it had on your audience?

It started as a passion project, but over time, it has grown into a space for deep, meaningful conversations. The audience engagement has been incredible people reach out to share how certain episodes have helped them see their struggles differently or given them the motivation to keep going. That kind of impact fuels me to keep pushing forward.

What have been some of the most powerful or unexpected lessons you’ve learned from your guests?

One of the biggest lessons is that resilience looks different for everyone. Each guest brings a unique perspective, but the common thread is the power of perseverance. I’ve also learned that vulnerability is strength—when people open up about their struggles, they create space for others to heal.

Beyond your podcast and writing, what drives you on a deeper level?

My purpose is to create meaningful change—whether through storytelling, business, or advocacy. I want to use my voice to uplift others, challenge societal norms, and help people feel seen and heard. At the core of everything I do is a desire to make a lasting impact.

How do you hope to use your platform and creative work to create lasting change?

By continuing to tell stories that matter, support causes I believe in and create opportunities for those who may not have had them otherwise. Whether it’s through Shades of Reality, my writing, or my business ventures, my goal is to leave a legacy of empowerment and transformation.

If you could leave behind one legacy through your work, what would it be?

That I helped people see the power in their own stories. I want my work to remind people that their voices matter, their struggles have meaning, and their dreams are worth pursuing—no matter the odds.
