Have you been feeling cut off from your spirit guides lately? Maybe you used to feel them around you, but now, it’s like the line is dead. You’re not alone. And more importantly: you’re not disconnected. Your spirit team is always with you. But sometimes, energetic blocks can mute their messages and make it harder to receive intuitive guidance.

A woman sits cross-legged on a rug, hand resting on her knee, appearing calm and relaxed in a meditative pose.

If you’re on a spiritual path, whether you’re channeling, reading the Akashic Records, or simply trying to reconnect with your intuition, this article will help you understand what’s really going on behind the silence and how to clear the way.

These are the three most common energetic blocks that interfere with spiritual connection and how to release them so you can hear your guides again.

1. The ego’s noise: When the mind drowns out the messages

This is one of the biggest blocks to intuitive clarity.

Your ego wants to protect you, but it does so by keeping you small, afraid, and stuck in mental loops. These thoughts often sound like:

  • “You’re not intuitive enough.”

  • “This is all in your head.”

  • “You can’t trust what you’re hearing.”

Whether it’s self-doubt, fear, judgment, or spiritual comparison, the ego thrives in separation. And separation energy is the opposite of connection.

When your mind is busy with inner chatter, it’s almost impossible to tune into the subtle, loving energy of your spirit guides. They speak through intuition, feelings, symbols, inner knowing, and those messages require stillness and presence.

How to clear it

Mindfulness and meditation are key. Even 5 minutes of quiet breathing each day can shift your awareness.

You don’t have to silence the mind completely; you just have to stop believing every thought. As you create space between you and the ego’s narrative, your channel opens. You become more available for the gentle guidance that’s always been there.

Try out my Connection Meditation, and see how quickly your energy shifts when you give your soul a moment to breathe and receive.

2. Doubt and disbelief: When you don’t trust you’re worthy

You believe in the spirit world. You might even believe in angels, guides, soul contracts, and karmic relationships. But deep down, do you believe you can connect with them?

This is one of the most subtle but powerful blocks on the spiritual path.

If part of you thinks, “I’m not special enough,” or “Other people are more gifted than me,” you’re sending a signal to the Universe that says: “I don’t believe this is possible for me.”

And that limiting belief creates a wall.

But here’s the truth:

You are already connected.

We are all psychic. We are all born intuitive. You are a soul first, a soul having a human experience. So connecting with your soul team is not only possible, it’s your most natural state of being.

Your soul guides have been with you since the birth of your soul. They know you better than anyone. They walk beside you with unwavering love, ready to support you on your path.

How to clear it

Practice trusting the connection you already have.

Speak to your guides daily, even if you don’t “hear” anything yet.

Ask for signs. Acknowledge the nudges you do receive.

Over time, you’ll rebuild the bridge of trust between you and your inner knowing, and the guidance will become louder and clearer.

3. Comparison and expectations: When you try to channel like someone else

You’ve probably seen psychics or mediums who “see” visions, “hear” voices, or receive detailed downloads. And maybe part of you thinks: “That’s how it’s supposed to work.”

But trying to receive messages like someone else can actually shut down your own intuitive channel.

I’ve seen this time and again with my students in my Akashic Records course. One in particular stands out: she was struggling to open her Akashic Records, even though she was doing everything “by the book.”

When I tuned in, her guides revealed something beautiful: movement was her gateway.

As a professional dancer, her channel opened through movement. She needed to move her body while reciting the Akashic opening prayer, to get out of her head and into her flow.

But she had been blocking that instinct because it felt “weird,” or “not how it’s supposed to be.”

This is how comparison creeps in. And when it does, it disconnects you from your truth.

How to clear it

Find your intuitive style. You might be:

There is no “better” way to connect. Your intuition is yours. And the more you honor your authentic expression, whether it’s movement, drawing, speaking, or silence, the stronger your channel becomes.

Let go of the need to receive messages a certain way. Be curious. Try new practices. Stay open.

You might be surprised at how clearly your guides have been speaking to you all along.

You’re not disconnected. You’re just remembering

Your spirit guides have always been here.

And the truth is: they never stop speaking to you.

Sometimes, the static of the mind, the weight of disbelief, or the pressure to “do it right” can cloud your connection, but the moment you become aware of those blocks, you’ve already taken the first step back.

This isn’t about becoming more spiritual.

It’s about returning to the part of you that already knows.

So breathe. Be gentle. And allow yourself to receive again.
