Today, Mastriaco works as a Business Customer Service and Sales Representative at AT&T Business Mobility. His job focuses on helping customers solve problems, improve communication, and find practical solutions for their businesses. It is a role that requires patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills.
For Mastriaco, those skills were shaped long before he entered the business world.
“I’ve always believed that how you treat people matters,” he says. “Good communication and consistency can take you a long way.”
His story is not about overnight success. It is about building habits, staying curious, and creating opportunities through reliability and hard work.
Where Nicholas Mastriaco’s Work Ethic Began
Mastriaco was born in Teaneck, New Jersey, but moved to Pleasant Garden, North Carolina, when he was six years old. He grew up there with his parents, Anita and Anthony, and his older sister, Tiffany.
Life in Pleasant Garden gave him a strong sense of community and routine. Family activities played a major role in his childhood. Weekends often included fishing trips, hikes, cookouts, movies, and visits to local parks.
“We spent a lot of time together as a family,” he says. “Those experiences taught me the importance of being present and staying connected.”
Music was another constant in the household. His father’s love for Pink Floyd filled many car rides and evenings at home.
“Music brought everyone together,” Mastriaco says. “It created memories that still stick with me.”
Growing up in a smaller community also taught him how relationships are built over time.
“In a small town, people remember how you treat them,” he explains. “That mindset carries into business too.”
Early Interests That Helped Build Problem-Solving Skills
As a child, Mastriaco spent plenty of time outdoors with friends, playing games like hide-and-seek, tag, and neighborhood races. But he also developed hobbies that encouraged focus and creativity.
One of his biggest interests was collecting Batman comic books. He also enjoyed building Lego sets, especially Batman and Star Wars collections.
“I liked figuring out how all the pieces connected,” he says. “You learn patience pretty quickly when you’re building something detailed.”
He also spent hours playing PlayStation 2 games, which introduced him to strategy, timing, and problem-solving in a different way.
Those hobbies may seem simple, but they helped shape the way he approaches challenges today. Instead of rushing through problems, Mastriaco prefers to break things down step by step.
“That mindset helps in customer service,” he says. “You have to slow down, listen carefully, and understand the full situation before you can solve anything.”
Education and a Strong Interest in History
Nicholas Mastriaco graduated from Providence Grove High School in 2019 with a 3.95 GPA. In school, he was known as a respectful and hardworking student.
History quickly became one of his favorite subjects.
“I liked learning how decisions from the past shaped the future,” he says. “It helped me think more critically.”
Teachers regularly praised both his attitude and his consistency in the classroom. Those habits would later become important in his professional career.
“Being dependable matters,” he says. “Whether it’s school, work, or relationships, people notice consistency.”
Building a Career in Customer Service and Sales
After high school, Mastriaco entered the business world through customer service and sales. Today, his role at AT&T Business Mobility blends communication, technology, and relationship management.
His work focuses on helping business customers navigate solutions that fit their specific needs. In a fast-changing industry, adaptability has become one of his most important skills.
“Technology changes quickly,” he says. “You have to stay open to learning and improving.”
Rather than focusing only on sales numbers, Mastriaco believes long-term success comes from trust and communication.
“A good customer experience starts with listening,” he explains. “People want to feel understood, not rushed.”
That approach has helped him build strong relationships while staying grounded in practical service.
He also believes curiosity plays a major role in professional growth.
“If you stop learning, you stop improving,” he says. “There’s always a better way to do something.”
Life Outside of Work Keeps Him Grounded
Outside of work, Mastriaco continues to pursue interests that keep him active and engaged. He enjoys hiking, cooking, nutrition, and spending time with friends and family.
He also has a strong interest in vehicle maintenance and repair.
“I like understanding how things work,” he says. “Fixing something yourself gives you a real sense of accomplishment.”
That hands-on mindset mirrors the way he approaches his career. He prefers practical solutions, steady improvement, and learning through experience.
While many career stories focus on dramatic turning points, Mastriaco’s journey reflects something more relatable. His progress has come through consistency, curiosity, and a willingness to keep building useful skills over time.
“Success doesn’t happen all at once,” he says. “It’s usually the result of small things done consistently.”
