How to ask the right questions and avoid investment regrets.

A man sitting at a desk in an office touching his head feeling confused

Before you panic, let's clarify what I mean by "trauma" here. I’m talking about the uneasiness from past experiences where you didn't feel like you got what you paid for. Specifically, we're diving into situations where past investments left you doubting yourself. Maybe you're worried about making a bad choice again and not trusting yourself. What I want to share with you is how to make better decisions when it comes to buying things or hiring services. If you've ever felt unsure because of past experiences, this article is for you.

Let's figure out how to regain your confidence and choose the right products or services without fear. I've been in situations where I've hired people for house projects or work-related tasks, and things didn't go as planned. These experiences made me doubt whether I could trust my choices. Maybe you've had similar experiences with things like clothes that didn't last after a wash. It's like you regret spending money because what you got didn't meet your expectations. This feeling also shows up in the coaching world. People invest in programs or services, but the results don't match what was promised. It's like buying clothes that don't fit right or don't last.

This feeling is what we call "investment trauma." In the coaching industry, where promises are abundant and regulations aren't strict, it's important to vet who you’re hiring. So, how can we deal with this? How can we make sure we're making the right choices and not repeating past mistakes? I'm here to guide you through this process and help you regain your confidence.

Asking the right questions

Let's start with asking three important questions when you're considering a coach, product,or service:

1. What Results Have They Achieved?: Find out what the coach or provider has accomplished. Do their results match what you want? Are they being honest about their achievements? 2. Have They Helped Others Achieve the Same Thing?: Look into their track record. Have they helped other people succeed? Genuine testimonials or case studies are like proof that they can actually deliver. 3. Do They Have a Proven System?: A clear system is crucial. An approach that's been tried and tested means they know what they're doing and can guide you effectively.

Empower yourself

Now, let's talk about how you can feel more confident when making a decision: 1. Don't Let the Past Define You: Recognize that past experiences are lessons, not regrets. Learn from them and move on without feeling ashamed. 2. Ask Good Questions: Don't be afraid to ask questions. Asking empowers you and helps you get the information you need to make a wise choice. 3. Take Responsibility: Your empowerment comes from taking charge. If someone makes you feel bad for asking questions, that's a sign you should be cautious. A good coach or provider will be happy to answer your questions.

Identifying authenticity

Have you ever noticed that people sometimes give advice they don't follow themselves? This happens in coaching too. It's important to find someone who practices what they preach.

Customize your approach

Remember, not everything suits everyone. Choose what fits your level of understanding and capability. If you're just starting out in a field, begin with something that matches your skills and knowledge.

Taking a clear path

Remember, dealing with investment trauma isn't about blaming anyone—it's about taking back control. Asking questions doesn't mean you don't trust; it means you're investing smartly.

We live in a world full of opportunities, and you have the power to make informed choices. By asking the right questions and staying true to your quest for truth, you're not a victim; you're a seeker of knowledge and a creator of your own success story.

Use these insights as your guide while navigating the world of investments. Stand strong and let your choices be guided by wisdom, not fear.
