Lisa Dunn and Lori Sherrington, Co-Founders of Inner Vision Healing & Wellness

What inspired the two of you to create Inner Vision Healing & Wellness together?

Inner Vision Healing & Wellness was created from a shared desire to help people feel supported emotionally, energetically, and spiritually in a compassionate and heart-centered way.

Although our backgrounds are different, we were both drawn toward the understanding that many people are silently carrying stress, burnout, anxiety, grief, and emotional overwhelm while trying to function in everyday life. We wanted to create a safe space where individuals could slow down, breathe, reconnect with themselves, and feel genuinely cared for.

Lisa’s experience in medical clinic leadership provided deep insight into patient care, emotional wellness, and the growing need for more integrative support. Lori’s work with special needs children and families brought a strong understanding of emotional safety, intuition, compassion, and connection.

Together, we created Inner Vision Healing & Wellness to bridge holistic healing, nervous system support, energy work, and human connection in a grounded and approachable way that helps people feel safe, seen, and supported on their healing journey.

Lisa, how did your years managing medical clinics shape the way you approach holistic healing today?

Working in multidisciplinary medical clinics for over 20 years gave me a deep understanding of both healthcare and the emotional realities many people experience behind the scenes.

I met countless individuals carrying stress, anxiety, burnout, grief, and emotional overwhelm while still trying to function in daily life. While traditional healthcare plays an important role, I often felt there was a missing piece, understanding why people become emotionally, mentally, and physically depleted in the first place.

That experience led me toward more holistic approaches that support the whole person rather than only focusing on symptoms. I became increasingly drawn to the connection between emotional stress, nervous system dysregulation, energy, and overall well-being.

My intuition also became an important part of my work. I believe many people already know deep within themselves what they are carrying emotionally, but they often need a safe and supportive environment to slow down, reconnect, and begin healing gently.

Today, I try to bridge professionalism, compassion, intuition, and holistic wellness in a grounded and supportive way.

Lori, what have special needs children taught you about emotional safety, energy, and communication?

Working with special needs children taught me that connection goes far beyond words. Many children are highly sensitive to energy, emotion, tone, and the environment around them, even when they may not always express it verbally.

One of the biggest lessons I learned is that people open up and begin to heal when they feel emotionally safe, accepted, and understood without judgment. Children often respond more to calm energy, patience, compassion, and authenticity than to spoken language alone. That experience deeply shaped how I approach both healing work and human connection today.

It also taught me the importance of nervous system regulation. When someone feels emotionally overwhelmed or overstimulated, their entire body and energy can shift.

Creating a calm and supportive environment can make an incredible difference.

Those experiences continue to influence the way I work with clients, with gentleness, empathy, intuition, and a strong focus on helping people feel safe enough to simply be themselves.

Why do you think nervous system regulation has become such an important conversation in wellness right now?

We are living in a time where many people are functioning in chronic stress without fully realizing how deeply it is affecting them emotionally, physically, and energetically.

Constant pressure, overstimulation, unresolved emotional experiences, and the demands of modern life can leave the nervous system stuck in prolonged “fight or flight” mode.

In our experience, many individuals carry emotional stress patterns for years, sometimes rooted in childhood experiences, trauma, grief, or long-term emotional suppression. Over time, this can contribute to anxiety, exhaustion, burnout, emotional reactivity, and a feeling of disconnection from themselves.

People are beginning to recognize that healing is not always about simply managing symptoms, but also about understanding deeper emotional and energetic patterns that may be affecting overall well-being.

Holistic modalities such as Reiki, Biofield Tuning, meditation, breathwork, and frequency-based wellness experiences may help support relaxation, emotional release, grounding, and nervous system regulation in a gentle and supportive way.

What misconceptions do people still have about frequency-based healing modalities like Biofield Tuning or the Harmonic Egg?

One of the biggest misconceptions is that frequency-based wellness modalities are intended to replace traditional medical care or that they are purely mystical or ungrounded. In reality, many people use modalities such as Biofield Tuning or the Harmonic Egg as complementary wellness experiences that support relaxation, emotional balance, stress reduction, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation.

Another misconception is that people need to fully understand energy or frequency work in order to benefit from it. Most clients simply notice that they feel calmer, lighter, more relaxed, or emotionally balanced after sessions.

The Harmonic Egg, in particular, is a unique frequency-based wellness experience that combines light, color, sound, music, and relaxation within a specially designed environment intended to support rest and balance. Many people are drawn to it because it provides an opportunity to slow down, disconnect from external stress, and simply allow the nervous system to relax in a peaceful and immersive setting.

Clients often describe feeling deeply relaxed, emotionally lighter, more grounded, or mentally clearer after sessions. While every person’s experience is unique, many people appreciate the gentle and restorative nature of the experience.

At its core, frequency-based wellness is about creating supportive environments that encourage relaxation, self-awareness, emotional balance, and nervous system support in a non-invasive and approachable way.

Many people also expect healing to be dramatic or immediate, when in reality it is often gentle and gradual. Healing can involve slowing down, reconnecting with yourself, becoming more emotionally aware, and creating space for reflection, balance, and nervous system support.

At its core, frequency-based wellness is about creating a calming and restorative environment that supports relaxation, emotional well-being, self-awareness, and a deeper sense of connection within yourself.

What are some early signs that someone may be emotionally overwhelmed or stuck in chronic “fight or flight” mode?

Many people do not recognize they are emotionally overwhelmed because functioning in survival mode has become normalized in today’s world. Often, the signs begin subtly and build gradually over time.

Some common signs include constant fatigue, anxiety, racing thoughts, irritability, emotional numbness, poor sleep, brain fog, overwhelm, digestive issues, or feeling unable to fully relax. Some individuals become emotionally reactive, while others disconnect completely and simply go through the motions of daily life.

We also see many people who struggle with guilt around resting. They feel pressure to keep pushing through stress even when their mind and body are asking for support. Over time, chronic stress can leave people feeling emotionally drained, physically exhausted, and disconnected from themselves.

One of the most important things people can do is begin listening to their body earlier rather than waiting until burnout becomes severe. Creating moments of stillness, support, emotional awareness, and nervous system regulation can make a significant difference.

For someone completely new to energy healing, what is the best way to begin exploring it without feeling intimidated?

The best way to begin exploring energy healing is with openness, curiosity, and without feeling pressure to fully understand everything right away. Many people initially feel hesitant because the concept can seem unfamiliar, and that is completely normal.

We always encourage people to start gently. This could be through a simple Reiki session, meditation, breathwork, grounding practices, or learning more about nervous system support and mindfulness. Healing does not need to feel overwhelming or complicated.

It is also important to find practitioners and environments that feel safe, supportive, and grounded. People should feel comfortable asking questions and moving at their own pace without judgment.

Often, individuals are surprised that the greatest benefit is simply giving themselves permission to slow down and reconnect with themselves. Energy healing is not about perfection or following a specific belief system. It is about creating space for rest, self-awareness, emotional support, and deeper connection within yourself.

What does “release, reset, reconnect” personally mean to each of you in your own lives?

For both of us, “release, reset, reconnect” represents the ongoing process of returning to ourselves in a healthier and more grounded way.

For Lisa, “release” means letting go of pressure, overextending, and constantly remaining in survival mode. “Reset” is about creating intentional moments of stillness, reflection, balance, and nervous system support. “Reconnect” means returning to intuition, authenticity, purpose, and inner alignment.

For Lori, “release” is about letting go of emotional heaviness, fear, and the need to always stay in control. “Reset” means creating calm within the body and mind through compassion, presence, and energetic balance. “Reconnect” is about reconnecting with joy, trust, human connection, and simply being present in the moment.

Together, these words reflect the foundation of our work and the belief that healing often begins by reconnecting with who you truly are underneath the stress and overwhelm of everyday life.

If readers could take away one idea about healing and personal transformation from this conversation, what would you want it to be?

We would want people to understand that healing is not about perfection or “fixing” yourself. Healing is a deeply personal journey of becoming more aware, compassionate, connected, and supportive toward yourself.

Many people spend years pushing through stress, emotional pain, burnout, or overwhelm while believing they simply need to keep going. Often, transformation begins when we finally give ourselves permission to slow down, listen inward, and acknowledge what our mind, body, and nervous system may be trying to communicate.

We also want people to know that healing does not have to happen alone. Support, connection, safe spaces, and compassionate guidance can make an incredible difference.

Most importantly, we believe people are far more resilient and capable of transformation than they realize. Sometimes the first step is simply remembering that you are worthy of peace, balance, support, and the opportunity to reconnect with yourself again.

Our hope is to create a safe and supportive space where individuals can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and explore healing in a gentle and compassionate way.
