In Louisiana’s legal and lobbying circles, reputation travels fast. Results matter. But over time, something else proves even more valuable, trust.

Kevin Hayes has built a career on all three.
From his early days in Metairie to leading his own firm, Hayes Strategic Solutions LLC, his path reflects steady growth, clear goals, and a strong sense of responsibility. His story is not about overnight success. It is about consistency, credibility, and doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.
“I want to be able to sleep at night knowing I have done the right thing,” Hayes says. That mindset has shaped every step of his career.
Early life and education in Louisiana
Kevin Hayes grew up in Metairie, Louisiana. His early years were grounded in family, discipline, and education.
He attended Jesuit High School in New Orleans, graduating in 1983. He then went on to Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he was deeply involved in student life. He even ran for student government president and finished as the runner-up.
That early experience with leadership gave him a taste of public service.
After LSU, Hayes continued his education at Southern University Law Center, earning his Juris Doctor in 1991. But his law school years were not easy.
“I lost my father during my senior year of law school,” he shares. “Later, I also lost my mother. Those moments changed how I looked at everything.”
Those losses added a deeper sense of purpose. They also reinforced his focus on resilience and long-term thinking.
Building a legal career in Baton Rouge
Hayes began his professional career in public service. He served as General Counsel for the Louisiana Senate Commerce Committee. That role placed him close to the legislative process early on.
It was here that he learned how policy, law, and business intersect.
From there, he moved into private practice. He became a partner at Roedel Parsons and later at Adams and Reese, two well-known law firms. These roles expanded his experience and exposed him to complex legal and business matters.
But Hayes was not just focused on technical skills. He was building something more.
“Credibility and being trustworthy matter more than anything,” he says. “If you follow through, people remember that.”
That reputation became a key asset as his career evolved.
From law to lobbying and strategic leadership
Over time, Hayes shifted his focus toward lobbying and strategic advisory work. This transition was a natural fit given his background in law and government.
Today, as the owner of Hayes Strategic Solutions LLC, he works at the intersection of policy, business, and advocacy.
His work often involves testifying at the legislature and helping clients navigate complex regulatory environments. It requires both deep knowledge and strong relationships.
“Achieving goals starts with a plan,” Hayes explains. “You have to stay disciplined and stick to it.”
He is known for being methodical. He journals. He plans. He tracks progress. These habits help him stay focused in a fast-moving environment.
He also credits his faith as part of his process.
“Prayer, sticking to my plan, and trusting the outcome,” he says. “That’s how I approach challenges.”
Leadership roles and industry recognition
Hayes has not only built a strong career. He has also played a major role in shaping his professional community.
He has held several leadership positions, including:
Chairman of the Young Lawyers Section of the Baton Rouge Bar Association
President of the Baton Rouge Bar Association
President of the Louisiana Association of Louisiana Lobbyists
He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Association of Louisiana Lobbyists and contributed to the Center for Law and Civic Education.
His work has earned recognition over the years. He was named Outstanding Young Lawyer of Louisiana in 2001 by the Louisiana State Bar Association. He also received the Judge Joseph Keogh Award in 2002.
These honors reflect both his professional skill and his commitment to the legal community.
Still, Hayes keeps a grounded perspective.
“Humble is how I try to stay,” he says.
A career defined by discipline and integrity
What stands out most about Kevin Hayes is not just his resume. It is how he approaches his work.
He focuses on preparation. He values relationships. And he measures success by outcomes and integrity.
“Following through is everything,” he says. “If you say you’re going to do something, you do it.”
That mindset has helped him build long-term trust with clients and peers.
Outside of work, Hayes enjoys time outdoors. He hunts, fishes, and rides his Jeep. He also stays active in church and bar association activities. These interests help him stay balanced.
At the center of it all is his family.
“My children are a big part of why I do what I do,” he says.
Why Kevin Hayes stands out in Baton Rouge
In a field where many compete for influence, Hayes stands out for a different reason. He focuses on consistency over flash.
He has built his career step by step. From public service to private practice to leading his own firm, each move has been intentional.
His approach is simple:
Set clear goals
Build a plan
Stay disciplined
Follow through
That formula has worked for decades.
And in Baton Rouge, where relationships and reputation drive business, that kind of consistency makes a lasting impact.
Kevin Hayes is not just part of the conversation. He has helped shape it.
