A brand-new platform built to make starting and growing a UK business easier, more affordable and considerably less lonely has launched nationwide, and for a limited time, new business owners can join completely free.

Just Starting Out (JSO) has officially launched across the UK, bringing together the tools, visibility, support and community new business owners need in one affordable platform.
Built following years of consumer research and conversations with hundreds of entrepreneurs, Just Starting Out was created around a simple question, "What do people actually need when they’re just starting out?"
“Finding those first customers is incredibly difficult when you're competing against businesses with years of reviews, established reputations and much bigger marketing budgets,” says Abi Hill, founder and CEO of Just Starting Out. “We wanted to create somewhere that gives new businesses a genuine chance to be seen, while providing the practical tools and support they need behind the scenes too.”
Business owners can create a professional profile and be discovered by consumers searching for local services, while also accessing features including a quote generator, invoice manager, diary and job tracker, digital business card, community forum, business resources, partner discounts, reviews, galleries and opportunities for promotion and recognition.
Just Starting Out has deliberately kept affordability at the heart of the platform. Even its highest-level ‘Trailblazer’ plan costs less than the price of a latte per week!
For a limited time, however, businesses can sign up completely 'free' as Just Starting Out builds its founding nationwide community.

Co-founder and CTO Richard Windley says the platform has changed significantly during development because of the people it was built for.
“We haven't built Just Starting Out and then asked people whether they like it,” says Windley. “Feedback has been part of the development process from the beginning. Features have been added, changed and refined because new business owners have told us what would genuinely make their lives easier. That will continue now that we're live. Our members will have a real voice in what Just Starting Out becomes.”
But Just Starting Out isn't only about helping entrepreneurs.
The platform has also been designed to help UK households navigate the continuing cost-of-living pressures by making it easier to discover emerging local businesses offering competitive services.
“For me, that's where Just Starting Out becomes really exciting,” Hill adds. “On one side you've got talented people who desperately need those first customers. On the other, you've got households looking for good local services at prices they can afford. We're bringing the two together. A consumer could save money while helping somebody else build their business. That's a pretty powerful exchange.”
Just Starting Out is also actively looking for new businesses to showcase as its community grows.
