Welcome! I am so glad you have taken the first step to regaining control of your fertility journey by being here with me. How are you currently feeling about your fertility journey? I bet the thought of it makes you very stressed, anxious and overwhelmed… Am I right?

Working 80 weeks in a very stressful position, you are also a wife or partner, have a household to look after and you are also somewhere in between trying to have some form of social life. No wonder your nervous system is constantly in stress response mode, your cortisol levels are at ridiculous levels, and you can not quite your mind!

We live in a very fast passed society that normalises stress, it tells us to keep going and not slow down. As a result, sleep is suffering, your emotions are put of balance, and you have inflammation in your body. Over time if your body is constantly in flight/flight response your body is so busy trying to control this response that there's nothing left for reproduction. Of course, it's going to be difficult to fall pregnant. The body needs to be in a state of homeostasis to easily fall pregnant. Over time if we ignore these first warning signs bigger signs will present themselves as major physical fertility health issues.

So what do you do to start to regulate your nervous system?

You must look at three things, your morning routine, your sleep habits and where your energy is going.

Sleep

Sleep is key. Learning to sleep is a very important skill for our health not only just for our fertility journey. Sleep is essential to regulate your nervous system and balance cortisol levels. This is a very simple breathing technique you can do before bed. This technique will help calm cortisol levels and your nervous system creating a perfect environment for sleep.

  • Breath for in 4

  • Hold for 1

  • Breath out for 8

  • Repeat 10 times

Morning routine

Morning is the most important time of the day to help regulate your nervous system. Having a specific routine or ritual that happens every morning is going to set you up for a positive day minus overwhelm, stress and anxiety. Go outside first thing in the morning and let some light into your eyes. Don't look straight into the sun but look up to the sky for a minute. This helps balance your cortisol levels and reset your circadian rhythm. Calming your mind and holding space to be in stillness is very important when trying to conceive. It is in fact it is an essential skill to help you move forward towards your dreams of becoming a mum.

Morning ritual examples, they only have to be 5 or 10 mins in length to really start to see a shift.

  • A morning meditation.

  • Taking 5 mins to write what you are grateful for.

  • 5 mins breathing practice.

Energy

You must start to consider where your energy is going. Do you have people, possessions or interactions in your life that are creating stressful negative energy? If so it is time to clean any negative to make space for calm and positive energy.

Think if your whole entire day is taken up with bad energy there's no space for anything positive. This is spiking your stress hormone levels and your nervous system is on very high alert. Not great if you're trying to have a baby.

Examples of where to start to clean up all the negative energy in your life.

  • Create a calming, peaceful bedroom space. No work, no photos that don't create a positive impact etc.

  • Limit time spent with people who don't contribute positively to your life.

  • Positive thoughts create positive energy. Start a gratitude ritual each night and see an instant shift in your thought patterns.

Whatever works for you is ok. By consciously creating time to be still, tune into your body and what it needs you will notice the signs your body is giving you. This is critical to moving you forward on your fertility journey. When you start to tune in and hold space you notice the signs earlier and what you need to do within to keep you moving forward towards your dreams of becoming a mum.

My purpose in life is to transform the mindset of those struggling to conceive a baby. To unlock the key to their hearts and allow them to live their lives in true alignment with the highest values of love, pure joy, and happiness. This is where the magic happens, and miracles occur.
