It’s never too late to pursue your dreams. And that’s because you have the power within you to take action and move forward towards what really matters to you.

There’s no one path or roadmap to get there, however, there are some practises that will allow you to set the foundations, respond to challenges in an empowering way and enjoy the journey, whilst staying in alignment with what you want to create.

1. Get Clear on Your Vision

You can start by defining your dream. What is your mission in life? What is it that you want to create? What kind of lifestyle do you want to have?

Asking yourself these types of questions will allow you to get a clear idea of what you want. You might know what you don’t want, but what about focusing on what you want to achieve?

2. Address the Resistance

When doubts about you achieving your dreams creep in, address them. If you face something unfamiliar, you are bound to feel uncomfortable, fearful, overwhelmed… This situation can trigger different emotions and thoughts since you are stepping out of your comfort zone.

Instead of resisting what comes up for you, how about you become curious and try to understand what’s causing it? The human brain has been wired to keep us safe, but we can only grow when we step into the unknown.

3. Grow a Powerful Mindset

What you can do to support yourself and your dreams is working on your mindset. The goal is to think in a way that allows you to overcome challenges and keeps you aligned with what you want to create.

Negative self-talk, doubts, self-sabotage… are keeping you away from your greatness. Believing in yourself is one of the most powerful things that you can do. And you can simply start by making decisions that make you feel good and keep you moving forward, like telling yourself: I’m enough!

4. Harness the Power of the Imagination

The mind knows no difference between imagination and reality, it records both experiences the same. So tell your mind what you want, imagine what your dream life looks like.

Visualise what that looks like, feels like, smells like, tastes like, sounds like. And connect with this vision on a daily basis. Remind yourself, and your brain, what you are working towards. Visualisations have the power to rewire your brain and change how you think, which supports pursuing your dream.

5. Plan Without Attachment

Planning is essential, plans are useless. Goal setting enables you to identify your main goal, and then break it down into milestones and micro goals. When you define and set tangible goals, you can take aligned actions on a daily basis.

However, if you get caught up in the plan, and you are not flexible enough to adjust to external circumstances that are out of your influence, you are likely to feel discouraged. Instead, focus on the process and be unattached to the outcomes. The key is to stay consistent and believe that the process is working.

6. Cultivate Gratitude

Being grateful for where you are right now, for what you have achieved so far, elevates your energy, makes you feel great and gives you the chance to celebrate wins.

Practising gratitude daily is a great way to harness the positive energy that will facilitate you going through your day in a Powerful State (as opposed to being in Primal State, survival mode). When doing so, you open yourself to new possibilities.

7. Take Daily Action

Motivation comes from action. So, take action every day towards what you want to achieve. There are no big or small steps here. There’s only consistent and aligned action towards your dreams.

Resistance will show up when doing something new, but you can remind yourself that you want this, that you got this. When fear shows, you can take a stance and say, Bring it on!

You have the choice. You can either give up or you can enjoy the journey and share it with others. What are you going to do today that will get you closer to your dream?

It’s never too late to pursue your dreams.

The best time to start was yesterday, the next best time is now.
