First Sovereign Woman-Channeled Reiki Lineage Opens Founding Cohort in Florida

St. Augustine, FL – Laura Ahern, known professionally as The Energy Linguist® and founder of Linguistic Consciousness Studies, will lead the first-ever combined Level I and Level II immersive in Anuraya Reiki™ on June 19-20, 2026, in historic St. Augustine.
Anuraya Reiki™ is the first entirely new, independent Reiki lineage to emerge since Mikao Usui originated the practice in 1922 and the first sovereign lineage ever channeled by a woman. Women have long carried Reiki forward, from Hawayo Takata onward, but each taught a system they had inherited. Anuraya Reiki™ is not a branch of Usui's tree, but an entirely new one, received whole.
The two-day immersive at Safe & Sound Wellness will initiate a founding cohort into the complete Level I and Level II foundation, with both certifications conferred together for the first time. Limited to twelve participants to preserve an intimate teaching container, the weekend runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day and concludes ahead of the summer solstice.
The name Anuraya (ah-noo-RAY-ah) comes from the Sanskrit anu, "to return to," and raya, "worth" or "treasure" – together, "a return to sacred worth." This is not about fixing what is broken, Ahern says. It is about returning people to the worth, wholeness, and overflow that were always there, with healing and clearer intuition following naturally.
"So many of us were taught to earn our worth – to prove it through what we achieve, how much we give, and how well we hold it all together – until we're depleted and still doubting ourselves," said Ahern. "When this channel opens, that reorganizes. People stop undervaluing their work, stop abandoning themselves in relationships, and start trusting their own intuition instead of seeking permission outside themselves. Anuraya Reiki™ doesn't hand them something new – it returns them to a worth, and a knowing, that were theirs all along."
Anuraya Reiki™ emerged from more than a decade of Ahern's exploration into consciousness, identity, healing, and human transformation following the loss of her husband, Josh, in 2013 – a journey that ultimately gave rise to her broader body of work as The Energy Linguist®.
The lineage is rooted in Linguistic Consciousness Studies, the field Ahern founded on the principle that energy is language. Through proprietary frameworks including The Conduit of the Mind™ and the Energy Evolution Formula™, practitioners learn to understand the body as an intelligent communication system rather than a malfunctioning one – treating sensation, emotion, and intuition as a language to be translated.
Where traditional Reiki often describes the practitioner as a conduit through which energy flows, Anuraya Reiki™ teaches a different recognition: that the practitioner is not separate from the energy at all, but part of the Field itself – the infinitely intelligent source from which it arises. Much of the weekend is devoted to practicum, with students learning to sense and translate energetic signatures in real time as Ahern reads each practitioner's field. Every practitioner initiates their lineage directly through Ahern, establishing a new spiritual genealogy.
Ahern brings an unusually interdisciplinary background to the work. She holds a degree in Psychology from Penn State and has pursued extensive study in transpersonal psychology, metaphysical sciences, consciousness, and integrative medicine. She is a Certified Medical Reiki Master trained under pioneer Raven Keyes, whose encouragement played an instrumental role in revealing what would eventually become the Anuraya Reiki™ lineage. Ahern is currently a doctoral candidate in Integrative Medicine with a focus on quantum coherence and has trained across the Usui, Karuna Reiki®, and Holy Fire® traditions.
