There’s this famous quote by Shirley Chisholm: “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.” It takes a little of that spirit to become an entrepreneur and a lot of it to become a TV producer. Look, the gender disparity in media is no secret. Last year, women comprised 45% of TV producers, up from 24% in 1998. The wheel of time may churn, but it’s so slow. This creates an amazing opportunity for women content creators to take their content globally. I’m very proud to say that Zondra TV is the home of high-quality, diverse, family-friendly, positive programming, with 71% of our producers being women.

Women in streaming TV

We are continuing to progress. You may not have known that women produced the following shows:

Broadcast favorites like Abbott Elementary, Scandal, and beloved classics like I Love Lucy, Star Trek, and Mission: Impossible.

And streaming favorites like Fleabag, Insecure, Orange Is the New Black, and let’s not forget the amazing Bridgerton.

So, with women behind some of your favorite TV shows, I believe that knowledge of the industry is critically important. That belief drove me to build a TV Producer Academy.

I’ve instructed hundreds of producers on how to get their ideas from paper to the screen, monetize their brand, and, more importantly, how to promote, promote, promote.

Streaming TV just makes it easier. It cuts out all the roadblocks women face when going through traditional broadcast channels.

It’s important to create and own your content and intellectual property forever.

Women-owned businesses: Celebrating local entrepreneurship

Did you know that 80% of entrepreneurs think they have no chance of ever being on TV? We’re all welcome here, especially women!

Many of our producers use their unique knowledge and talents to craft shows that target audiences in need of their expert advice.

Not only did streaming TV open the door for entrepreneurs, but it also opened the door for women to not only succeed but also to thrive.

Inspiring young women

I want to share a quote from a young Zondra TV colleague, Jocelyn Alvarez:

Working for ZondraTV has been one of the most rewarding highlights of my life. Zondra creates such a positive, uplifting environment that truly embodies what entrepreneurship and empowerment look like in action. I first met Zondra through a colleague, and from the moment we spoke, I could feel her warmth and kindness. She encouraged me, reminding me that so many people are supporting me, words that have stayed with me ever since.

At ZondraTV, I’ve had the privilege of contributing as both an interviewer and a concierge, assisting in the studio and helping to bring meaningful stories to life. It has been an incredible experience to be part of a platform that uplifts and inspires others.

Working with Linda Fisk as a producer has also been a wonderful journey. Her dedication to empowering women and ensuring they embrace their strength to create abundance is truly inspiring. Her vision and leadership make a lasting impact, and I have loved being part of projects that align with such a powerful mission.

Being part of ZondraTV and collaborating with Linda Fisk has not only enriched my professional journey but has also reinforced my belief in the power of storytelling, connection, and women supporting women.

The power of collective action

Of course, there’s that other famous saying, “No man is an island.”

As CEO of Zondra TV, I am on a personal crusade to uplift others, as others have done for me. What is success without holding the door for those who come behind you?

And let me tell you, kindness, integrity, and support really trickle down.

The producers at Zondra TV support one another, full stop. They attend each other’s premieres, appear as guests, promote each other, and, well, you get the picture.

Being a TV producer is so much easier when you have a full team of colleagues who understand the rigors of the entire production cycle and that final crucial step: promotion.

After all, to quote the great Serena Williams, “Every woman’s success should be an inspiration to another. We’re strongest when we cheer each other on.”

Celebrating cultural diversity

Support at Zondra TV takes many forms, from informationals that help everyone monetize their brand to one-on-one sessions with me to address concerns. It’s even opening the world of Zondra TV to audiences we’ve never had before.

If you follow me on social media, then you already know the big news: we’re now trilingual!

Thanks to Pastor Mercy Bouare’s LEWW show, we now offer content in French and English. The Movida Hispana Micro Network and Yadira González Muñoz and Jennifer Thompson’s Conversando con I AM.TV brings Spanish content to our audience.

Oh, by the way, our informationals are not a disguise for a sales call. These are the strategies we used to grow our brand, strategies you can put into actionable practice.
