AI versus Consciousness I find this a very interesting topic, particularly as artificial intelligence becomes more robust and advanced. AI can replace many of our jobs. AI can assist us in our work (no I did not write this with AI I thought it would lie to me to boost its ‘ego’). Pretty sure there are serious security risks if it gets in the wrong hands. It can design. It can create tangible objects. What can AI not do at this point?

Running from fear or reconnecting with consciousness?

With so much uncertainty in our world today with the rise of AI, volatile political and economic landscape, I sense we are increasingly at a pivotal time. I remember at the beginning of 2020 saying again to myself “thank God” something is forcing us to slow down and hopefully re-prioritize. The first time I said this was when I broke my ankle at 21 while out on my daily run I needed the slow down to face the experiences I was running from.

While the past four years have been challenging in different ways for many, many have experienced significant challenges, loss, crisis, and awakenings. I too experienced this at 21 and it shook my world upside down. It was hard but ultimately for the better, and now as a Somatic Coach, I feel fortunate in being able to support others through these changes be it accidents, birth of a new child, or integrating after sought out experience through plant medicine or other modalities. I feel privileged to be able to support many, including parents with somatic tools to honour and reconnect with their intuition and raise consciousness.

So what is the lesson in all this chaos?

My belief is that we are being asked to slow down and reconnect with our hearts, to tap into our true power, to be the change in the world.

AI does not possess a heart or consciousness. AI does not have the power of intuition humankind, and many animals do. While we can attempt to rationalize and predict the best outcome with all the unknowns, our truest wisdom comes from being able to slow down and connect with our hearts, intuition, and consciousness. This requires having the courage to say ‘no’ to what is not in alignment with our values and purpose and to do things differently from what our societies dictate is the norm, and from what I can see in research and my work, it has only perpetuated states of chronic stress.
