Deep inside of your subconscious are your beliefs, perspectives and fears. You don’t have immediate access to what lives in your subconscious, but it controls 95% of how you think, react and behave. The subconscious controls the actions you take and the way you perceive life.

Many, if not most, of the beliefs in your subconscious are a result of how you were raised and the way your parents or those who raised you believed.

Those beliefs are most likely holding you back from living a life that you dream of, but when we understand that the role of the sub conscious is to protect you. You can then come from a place of understanding to clear the subconscious beliefs that are limiting you and then fully step into an empowered life.

When I think about the way I was raised with beliefs around money it makes perfect sense that my parents were cautious with money. My parents were raised during the depression. My mother tells stories of having holes in her shoes and placing the cardboard from the cereal box inside to protect her feet from the elements. Having the fear of not enough, the belief that money is difficult to come by and requires hard work, was a belief that was passed down to me and my siblings.

Right now we live in an abundant world. There are more millionaires on the planet then ever before. Quantum science has come to the conclusion that we are each creating our reality and abundance is available to each one of us.

But, if you lived a life where money was scarce or you developed thoughts that you are not worthy of abundance, your sub conscious will keep you safe and lack will continue to be your reality.

So what can you do? Are you doomed to a life of lack if your sub conscious holds onto those beliefs? Absolutely not, there are ways to reprogram the subconscious and see shifts in all areas of your life.

One way to do this is to write down the limiting beliefs that you have about life. After you write down a belief that you have, write a new belief that you would like the subconscious to adopt. For example, if your limiting belief is “I must work hard to make money” shift that statement to “ Money is easy to accumulate.” Then find some evidence in your world that proves the new empowered belief. Who do you know that has a successful business making money and living a life with ease and free time? Let the mind find the evidence and write that down next to the new belief. When we express our new thoughts in writing it helps to imprint the new belief in the sub conscious.

A second way to reprogram the sub conscious is through repeating positive affirmations. If you begin to become more aware of your thoughts throughout the day you will start to bring those unconscious thoughts to the conscious mind. Notice throughout the day when your mind feels fearful about money. Maybe you see something in a store front you would love to buy, but you don’t think you can afford it. Or a bill comes in the mail and you wait to open it because you don’t want to face the debt. Notice how you feel when these thoughts come up and have an affirmation or mantra ready that you will immediately repeat to override the negative thought. Thoughts such as “Money flows to me effortlessly.” or “I attract money from multiple sources.” At first the affirmation might feel contrived and uncomfortable. But overtime you will begin to shift energetically and the affirmation will excite you. The energy you are emanating out in to the Universe will eventually come back to you.

A third way to reprogram the sub conscious, and my favorite, is creative visualization. You see, your subconscious mind 'does not ' know the difference between the reality you are living and an imagined reality. When we use our imagination to see a new reality we are actually beginning to create that new reality. Each of us is here to create our life from within, for most of us we just haven’t been taught that. Try laying in bed at night and visualizing the life you would love to be living on the screen of your mind. See it like a movie that you are creating. Incorporate all of your senses, not only what you are you seeing, but include; hearing, feeling, even tasting and touching. And things will move more quickly if you actually believe that it is possible. As Wayne Dyer said, “You gotta believe it to see it!”.
