Smrita Jain
Creative and Experience Director
Smrita Jain is an award-winning Creative and Experience Director, Senior Product Designer, Agentic AI Consultant, and founder of The Aquario Group, a Brooklyn-based design and experience consultancy focused on strategy, UX, product design, brand storytelling, digital transformation, and business growth. With more than 18 years of multidisciplinary creative experience, including 7+ years in UX/UI and product design and 1+ year in agentic AI-orchestrated workflows, Smrita has built her career at the intersection of design, technology, storytelling, and measurable business impact.
Through The Aquario Group, Smrita partners with small businesses, nonprofits, educational institutions, cultural organizations, and growth-focused brands to transform complex ideas into clear, scalable, and emotionally resonant experiences. Her work spans UX research, product strategy, mobile and web app design, e-commerce, CRM strategy, marketing automation, content systems, photography, brand identity, visual design, AI-enabled workflows, and digital growth strategy. Her approach is rooted in building systems that not only look beautiful, but also help people take action, reduce friction, and move organizations forward.
Smrita’s portfolio reflects her ability to connect business strategy with human-centered design across industries. For La Julie Boutique & Spa, she developed a full-funnel digital growth strategy across UX, photography, website optimization, content planning, social media, and campaign execution, helping the Brooklyn-based spa strengthen its online presence, improve customer engagement, and turn digital attention into bookings and revenue. For NPZ Law Group, she designed a legaltech workflow concept for immigration clients and internal legal teams, creating a two-sided mobile and desktop experience that clarified case status, centralized communication, structured document requests, and reduced confusion between lawyers, staff, and clients. For Rutgers University’s Camp Kilmer project, she shaped an immersive AR walking tour experience using geolocation, audio narration, augmented reality moments, and interactive storytelling to preserve history through a modern, location-aware mobile journey.
Her work also includes strategic brand and communications design for mission-driven and institutional organizations. For JDRF, now Breakthrough T1D, Smrita helped strengthen community outreach through event strategy, sponsorship decks, branded collateral, annual reports, donor communications, social content, and corporate partnership materials that supported advocacy, engagement, and fundraising conversations. For the Financial Accounting Foundation, FASB, and GASB, she contributed to a major brand and experience system that included logo design, identity development, brand guidelines, website design, signage, and wayfinding, helping unify a complex institutional ecosystem under a clearer and more consistent visual language.
In 2026, Smrita expanded her entrepreneurial work into heritage-led retail and e-commerce through the revival of Elite Styles, a third-generation Indian and Indo-Western fashion brand rooted in an approximately 80-year family business legacy. The story began in the 1940s with her grandfather, Mr. Hoshiyar Chand Jain, who founded a bespoke atelier known for hand-crafted garments and custom tailoring. The legacy was later carried forward by her father, Mr. Vijay Kumar Jain, until the atelier closed its physical doors in 2004. Today, Smrita, along with her sisters Swatika Jain and Shuchita Jain, is helping revive Elite Styles for a new generation of modern women through curated Indian and Indo-Western fashion, e-commerce strategy, social-first storytelling, CRM thinking, AI-assisted marketing workflows, and marketing automation.
Her work on Elite Styles reflects a larger philosophy that heritage brands can be modernized without losing their soul. By bringing together AI tools, marketing automation, digital storytelling, and e-commerce strategy, Smrita is helping transform an 80-year-old family legacy into a contemporary fashion experience built for discovery, conversion, loyalty, and long-term growth. The revival is not only about selling clothing. It is about honoring craft, family history, women-led entrepreneurship, and the evolution of a traditional business into a digitally connected brand.
Smrita’s creative and design work has been recognized across multiple award platforms, including Effie Silver, 2025, B2 ANA Category of One 2025, People to Watch issued by GDUSA in 2018, 47th Creativity International in 2017, 54th American Graphic Design in 2017, Summit International Creative in 2017 in London, International Creative in 2016, Summit International Creative in 2016, and Design Firms, Graphic Design in 2016. These recognitions reflect the breadth of her work across brand, digital, creative direction, product experience, and integrated campaign thinking.
Her certifications and specialized training include UX/UI for Gaming from ELVTR, New York, 2024, a Professional Diploma in UX Design from UXDI and Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland, UK, 2021, and Enterprise Design Thinking from IBM, New York, 2020. This combination of creative education, UX training, enterprise thinking, and emerging technology experience allows her to move fluidly between brand storytelling, digital systems, product strategy, and AI-enabled transformation.
Known for her hands-on, “roll-up-my-sleeves” approach, Smrita brings structure to ambiguity and clarity to complex workstreams. Whether she is designing a mobile app, creating a brand identity, shaping an e-commerce experience, building a marketing system, developing AI-assisted workflows, or helping a legacy business re-enter the market, she approaches every project with a balance of creativity, strategy, empathy, and execution.
As a designer, founder, strategist, mentor, and creative entrepreneur, Smrita continues to build work that connects culture, technology, and human experience. Through The Aquario Group, she helps organizations grow with clarity, intelligence, and purpose, while using design as a tool to create momentum, tell better stories, and build experiences that people remember.
