Founder of Nikki Jordan Fitness Performance & Personal Trainer

I’m Nikki Jordan, a Personal Trainer and the founder of Nikki Jordan Fitness Performance. I’ve been working in the fitness industry since 2018, helping women become stronger, more confident and more capable through exercise.
My route into fitness wasn’t exactly conventional. Before becoming a PT, I was a bartender. I loved that chapter of my life too. I have a lot of fond memories, and enjoyed everything I learned from my peers and the punters. But while bartending was something I genuinely enjoyed, fitness was where I really thrived.

My relationship with exercise began in Australia, where I joined a gym in Sydney a few years after recovering from my first battle with Hodgkin lymphoma. I’d been a member of gyms before, but this time I decided to work with a Personal Trainer and see what I could actually achieve.

It turned out I was capable of far more than I’d realised.
With the right guidance, I started setting and achieving goals, losing weight, building strength and taking on challenges I’d never previously considered. I even found myself competing in obstacle course races (strange for someone who doesn’t do running) and, perhaps more surprisingly, genuinely enjoying the gym.

That experience planted the seed that would eventually change my career. Encouraged to consider becoming a PT myself, I decided to study for my qualifications.

It was a decision that would lead me down a very different path.
Not long after qualifying, I discovered that my cancer had returned. My life in Australia ground to a halt, and I moved back to the UK to live with my family while undergoing treatment.

It was a difficult and uncertain time, but there were also some unexpected positives. My qualifications were transferable to the UK, which meant I could begin working in the industry I’d trained for. I started working at Anytime Fitness in Clacton while still undergoing treatment. Being surrounded by supportive colleagues and a welcoming gym community made a huge difference.
After further treatment and a stem cell transplant, I reached remission and began rebuilding my health, my strength and my life.

Somewhere along the way, I realised that I’d found a career I genuinely loved.
I’ve now spent the best part of a decade working with clients, helping women with all sorts of goals, starting points and experiences.

Some want to lose weight. Some want to build muscle. Some want to get stronger, improve their confidence or finally feel comfortable in a gym. Others want to achieve something specific, like their first pull-up, a new personal best or simply the ability to do things they couldn’t do before. What I love most are those moments when something clicks. When a client realises they’re stronger than they thought. When a movement that once felt impossible suddenly becomes manageable. When they stop seeing exercise as something they have to do and start seeing it as something they genuinely enjoy. Those moments never get old.

My approach to fitness has developed through my own experiences, my work with clients and the years I’ve spent learning what actually makes a difference in the real world. I’m not interested in quick fixes, punishing workouts or making people feel guilty for enjoying their lives. I want my clients to build strength, develop sustainable habits and understand what their bodies are capable of.
I believe fitness should empower women, not consume them.

As a qualified pre and postnatal fitness specialist, I’m particularly passionate about helping women feel strong and supported through the changes that come with different stages of life. I believe training should adapt to the individual, rather than expecting the individual to fit into a rigid plan.
Becoming a mum myself has added another perspective to that work.

Experiencing pregnancy, birth and the early stages of motherhood has given me a deeper appreciation of how much life can change, and how important it is for women to have realistic and flexible approaches to their health and fitness.
Alongside my face-to-face Personal Training, I’ve also developed my online coaching service, supporting women with their training, nutrition guidance, habits and the practical challenges of fitting fitness around everyday life.
I love the personal side of coaching. The conversations, the problem-solving, the little wins and those moments when a client realises that progress doesn’t always look the way they expected it to.

Looking back, my journey into fitness has been anything but straightforward. From bartending in Australia to training clients in Clacton, from cancer treatment to rebuilding my strength, I’ve experienced some pretty significant twists and turns. It’s been a wild ride.

Fitness has given me far more than a career. It’s helped me rebuild, grow and discover a version of myself I might never have met otherwise.
It’s also given me the privilege of helping other people discover what they’re capable of, and that’s something I don’t take for granted. I don’t think you need to have everything figured out before you start. I certainly didn’t. You just need to be willing to take the next step, even if you have no idea where it’s going to lead. And after everything that’s happened, I’m still excited about what’s around the next corner.
