Natalya Gevorgyan

Founder, The Magic Church

Natalya Gevorgyan is the founder of The Magic Church, a U.S.-based nonprofit religious organization focused on research, governance, and responsible approaches to psychedelic practice. Her work explores how institutions can combine religious belief with rigorous research, neuroscience, ethical governance, and structured preparation and integration.

She has led computational research analyzing more than 19,000 public online discussions related to mental health and psychedelic experiences, with a particular interest in how people seek support, interpret significant experiences, and carry insights into everyday life. Her broader work includes governance frameworks, post-experience continuity systems, academic research collaborations, and engagement with U.S. regulatory processes.

Natalya also serves as a peer reviewer across scientific and professional settings, including JMIR publications and psychedelic research, and has contributed expert commentary to media covering mental health, psychedelics, and responsible innovation.

Before founding The Magic Church, she built an international career spanning technology, hospitality, investment banking, and entrepreneurship. She has lived, studied, and worked across Armenia, India, China, and the United States, earning an MBA from Nankai University and an undergraduate degree in economics with a focus on the energy sector.

Her current work centers on a simple principle: belief can provide meaning and direction, while research and governance can help institutions act responsibly.
