Masithokoze Moyo, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Angel Wings Aviation, has been named a Worldwide Who’s Who Professional of the Year in Commercial Aviation. While inclusion in Worldwide Who’s Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who’s Who membership.

“You have to love what you’re doing, be true to yourself, and a have clear vision of your dreams,” believes Ms. Moyo, founder and CEO of Angel Wings Aviation. Ms. Moyo is an accomplished businesswoman, development activist, and private pilot known for her intelligence, drive, powerful analytical skills and entrepreneurial flair. Having previously served as the sole woman executive director at Alpine Aviaiton, she now applies her expertise to her new company, which she founded in January 2010. Her profession entails providing executives private jets and helicopters, networking with pilots, and tailoring customized and timely services for each client. She manages a staff of 18 employees, approves every chapter of operations, and supervises the sales and operations departments.

Additionally, Ms. Moyo is the founder of the Masithokoze Foundation, a social enterprise focused on skills development and youth enterprise development in poorly-resourced communities. The organization conceptualizes, designs, implements and delivers skill programs, short courses, dialogue sessions, workshops and conferences. It also offers bursaries to deserving youth each year. Ms. Moyo hopes that her foundation will help bring more children, especially girls, into science and engineering careers. She also is a passionate mentor to young entreprenuers.

A skilled writer and regular blogger, Ms. Moyo is at work on two books entitled “A Rolling Stone Does Gathers Moss” and “Is the Reality Better than the Perception?” The first book is a memoir about her childhood traveling around the world and the influences of her father, a former intelligence officer. Her second book critiques South African youth development programs and offers the best possible international practice comparisons. Ms. Moyo has also published papers on youth development and socio-economic matters for various sectors, as well as a free community newspaper distributed in Leeds, West Yorkshire, and the United Kingdom.

Prior to establishing her company and foundation, Ms. Moyo was a program manager for a capacity-building project for the Development Bank of Southern Africa. She was also a researcher for the Parliament of South Africa, working with the Parliamentary Millennium Program, as well as a police officer for the West Yorkshire Police.

In light of her accomplishments, Ms. Moyo received an International Career Scholarship Award from Women in Cooperate Aviation in 2011. In 2010, she was nominated as one of South Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business, and in 2009, she was named among Development Bank’s Employees of the Year. Ms. Moyo feels that she has been able to succeed in all of her professional and philanthropic efforts by adhering to the “3 Ps and 3Ds: Passion, Purpose, and Perseverance, coupled with Diligence, Discipline, and Dedication.” She is also thankful for the support of her husband, who is also her business partner, and her life coach, Dr. Dumisani Magadlela, whom she describes as her thinking partner, her true critic, her awareness agent and a constant source of positive vibes.

Ms. Moyo is pursuing an MBA in leadership and sustainability from Robert Kennedy College. She is affiliated with Women In Corporate Aviation, Women in Aerospace, Business Networking South Africa, and the International Aviation Women’s Association. In the years to come, Ms. Moyo looks forward to continued growth in her professional and humanitarian endeavours. A true example to young professionals, she passionately advises: “Surround yourself with people who empower you and genuinely care about your success! Then get up and do it!”
