Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, and now residing in the Dallas area, Makiya’s journey has been shaped by ambition, resilience, and perseverance. After experiencing the devastating loss of her brother, she learned firsthand what it means to keep moving forward through adversity while continuing to pursue the life and future she envisioned for herself. Those experiences helped shape the determination and purpose she brings to both her personal and professional life.

While building Vonyia Business Solutions, Makiya has also built a successful career in corporate America, gaining experience in business, client relationships, strategy, and leadership. Balancing entrepreneurship with her corporate career has given her a unique perspective on what it takes to build something of your own while navigating the demands of professional life.
 
Today, Makiya uses her experience to help entrepreneurs move beyond simply having a business idea and begin building businesses with structure, strategy, and intention.
