Dr. Louise Hurst
Somatic Trauma-informed Coach
Dr Louise Hurst is a Somatic Trauma‑Informed Coach and Narcissistic Abuse Specialist™. Her coaching certification is complemented by an academic career culminating in a doctorate in neuroimmunology, where she researched the underlying causes of multiple sclerosis. For the past 16 years, Louise has worked as a medical writer, producing educational content for healthcare professionals across the pharmaceutical industry.
While she has a strong academic background in neuroscience, it was her lived experience of narcissistic abuse that led her to become a Somatic Trauma-Informed Coach. She understands how unresolved trauma shapes identity, relationships, and behaviour — particularly for daughters of narcissistic mothers. Louise specialises in the mother wound, betrayal trauma, and the patterns that emerge from chronic invalidation and scapegoating.
Her coaching integrates attachment theory, Internal Family Systems, somatic trauma‑informed practices, and positive psychology to help clients recognise people‑pleasing, inner‑critic dynamics, and survival patterns that keep them stuck. She supports clients in reparenting their inner child, rebuilding self‑trust, and developing a compassionate, grounded sense of self.
Louise is the founder of Beauty for Ashes Coaching and Henka Medical Communications Ltd. In her spare time, she enjoys nature, horse riding, and spending time with her four children.
