Lorie Parmalee graduated in 2010 with a dual Bachelors Degree in Contemporary Music Studies and Music Performance. She graduated in 2014 with her Masters of Science in Music Therapy and a minor in psychology, and earned her Board Certification for Music Therapy that same year. She gained her License to practice Creative Arts Therapy in the State of New York in 2016.

This same year she upgraded her side part-time “LMG Music Therapy” to become a full time business owner with “Life Music Lessons and Therapy.” Lorie stayed busy, becoming a mother of three while getting involved in the professional community by being a founding member and Vice President of the New York State Association for Music Therapy.

In 2024 she made teacher spotlight for the Music Link Foundation and Marquis Who’s Who! Finally in March 2026, Life Music Lessons and Therapy Inc. was founded as a non-profit. It continues to grow with a mission to serve clients who cannot normally afford or find access to quality music education and alternative creative arts therapy services, and a vision to make quality music and arts education and alternative creative arts therapy services more well known and available, in order to reach all those who currently do not have access but who could benefit from them.
