Laura Cole is the founder of Your Latitude, a Solution-Focused leadership coach, and the creator of tools designed to empower action, transform conflict and build collaboration to encourage resilient cultures in times of change.
 
As a Solution-Focused practitioner, Laura uses future-oriented approaches that focus on building solutions rather than analyzing problems, fostering resilient and optimistic mindsets. This approach does not ignore the problem, but rather re-orients curiosity and creativity to focus on building rather than undoing. Using solution-focused approaches in her coaching, Laura supports organizations in developing deliberate and intentional ways of interacting when navigating change.
 
Laura has the pleasure of including four-legged colleagues in her practice working with Sierra Acres Equine Assisted Learning Centre. Observing these equine assisted learning sessions inspired the innovative leadership tool Watson’s Rule: 3 Essentials to Empower Action. Affectionately named after the horse who inspired the tool, Watson’s Rule uncovered a pattern of three empowering factors needed to push past comfort zones and take action even when feeling uncertain or uncomfortable. Laura works with leaders to foster these elements in their teams to empower action when navigating the uncertain nature of change.
 
Other tools unique to Your Latitude include a conflict communication model to de-escalate conflict and invite collaboration, and a leadership mindset framework designed to promote congruent communication when speaking under pressure.
 
Laura has a degree in Communications, an MBA in Innovation Leadership and is certified in mediation and conflict management. She is a professor, facilitator, executive coach and international keynote speaker. As an equestrian, Laura has a personal mission to ride horses in as many countries as possible to experience the unique horse breeds and cultures around the world.
