Kass James
Healthcare Business and Disability Specialist
Kass James is a disability rights and healthcare business specialist. He has a master’s degree in management of information systems from University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business, a graduate certificate in assistive technology from California State University at Northridge, and certifications in ADA administration, environmental access, and patient rights and responsibilities. He specializes in assisting healthcare systems restructure to increase value while simultaneously increasing patient outcomes and experiences.
Mr. James has been forced to walk with a cane since 2003, and this has made him acutely aware of the lack of access in both employment and everyday life. A severe lack of accessibility drove him to gain the knowledge and certifications necessary to advocate for others like himself. As an ADA and environmental access consultant, he helps business understand reasonable accommodations and reduce the ambiguity often associated with that term. In January of 2020, he joined two other like-minded individuals to form the Spoonie Advocate Associates, a group focusing on giving clients control over their healthcare.
Along with other volunteer advocacy work, Kass James continues to show businesses that they can increase value by becoming more accessible.
