Jerry Buchleitner is the owner of Buchleitner Investigative Services LLC in South Carolina, bringing more than 35 years of experience to private investigation, fraud detection, anti-money laundering investigations and asset protection. As a South Carolina licensed private investigator since 2017, he serves clients with an emphasis on confidentiality, thorough research, and professional integrity.

His professional background initially started in district, then regional loss prevention work in retail, where he partnered with human resources and store management on investigations, employee interviews, and stock loss issues. His broader expertise encompasses anti-money laundering investigations for an accounting-based firm, background research for the Federal Government which included security clearance investigations for the Department of Defense (DOD) and other Federal positions, along with insurance and workers’ compensation investigations, surveillance, process service and investigative training, to name a few.

Jerry holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Criminology and Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has completed training through the Wicklander-Zulawski School of Interviewing and the Reid School of Interviewing and Interrogation. He previously held the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) credentials.

His professional achievements include authoring a chapter in the 2010 Internet Fraud Casebook: The World Wide Web of Deceit, which shares lessons from a fraud investigation, along with authoring a best practice reference in the 1999, Volume 2 of the Security Best Business Practices Reference Manual published by the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS). Jerry is also a member of the South Carolina Association of Legal Investigators (SCALI). Through his private investigative practice, Jerry combines formal education, specialized training, and extensive practical experience to help clients, which include attorneys, businesses and individuals, establish facts and make informed decisions.
