Dr. Galia BarHava

Founder of Oro Group

Dr. Galia BarHava is an applied developmental psychologist, organisational culture expert, speaker and entrepreneur who has spent more than 30 years exploring how people grow, lead and work together. Her work sits at the intersection of psychology, business strategy and organisational culture, challenging the assumption that commercial performance and human development are separate conversations.

Galia began her career in strategy consulting at Boston Consulting Group and later became the inaugural Head of Ethics of New Zealand’s largest company. Today, through Oro Group, she works with organisations to strengthen leadership, relationships and culture. She is particularly known for designing group mentoring programmes that create opportunities for women and emerging leaders, while also developing mentors and influencing the wider cultures in which they work.

Her perspective is both professional and deeply personal. Her experience of a rare, life-threatening autoimmune illness, and of care that combined medical treatment with a deeply human approach, inspired her PhD research in person-centred healthcare. It reinforced a conviction that continues to shape her work: people develop through relationships, and the quality of those relationships matters.

Drawing on Positive Psychology, Positive Organisational Scholarship and decades of practical experience, Galia makes psychological research accessible and relevant to everyday organisational life. Through her writing, keynotes, workshops and consulting, she invites people to question the invisible assumptions about leadership, careers and success, and to pay closer attention to the human dynamics that shape how organisations actually work.
