Federica Zamboni

Psychologist and Clinical Psychosexual Therapist

Federica Zamboni is an Australian psychologist, Clinical Psychosexual Therapist, PsyBA-approved supervisor and the founder of IS IT NORMAL, Tailoring Therapy and ower and Director of Perth Psychology Collective. Based in Perth, Western Australia, she has extensive experience working with individuals, couples and families across a wide range of psychological, relational and sexual concerns.

Her professional interests include relationships, sexuality, parenting, emotional wellbeing, identity, trauma, personality disorders and the complex forces that shape human behaviour. She also works in forensic and medico-legal contexts and has a particular interest in the ways psychology intersects with morality, social expectations, family systems and everyday life.

Federica’s writing is grounded in clinical experience, psychological evidence and a deep respect for the complexity of human beings. She is especially interested in challenging simplistic explanations, rigid psychological rules and popular narratives that reduce complicated experiences to labels, slogans or easy solutions. Her work encourages readers to consider context, culture, relationships and the often-unspoken meanings behind behaviour.

Through IS IT NORMAL, Federica creates thoughtful psychoeducational content about the questions people frequently wonder about but may feel uncertain, embarrassed or afraid to ask. Her aim is not to tell people what they should feel or how they should live, but to offer psychologically informed perspectives that help them understand themselves, their relationships and the world around them with greater curiosity and compassion.

Alongside her clinical and writing work, Federica develops educational resources, professional training and digital products designed to make nuanced psychological knowledge more accessible. She believes that good psychological education should inform without pathologising, challenge without shaming and remain honest about the complicated realities of ordinary life.
