Fabio da Silva Fernandes

Resilience, Mindfulness and Reiki Enthusiast

Fabio da Silva Fernandes (he/him) is the owner of Resting Bell Wellness Inc., a wellness business centred on mindfulness, Reiki and resilience cultivation, branded under the name of his podcast, The Stumbling Spirit.

For the majority of 27 years, Fabio worked in the tech industry where he proved himself as a competent customer support leader who successfully managed a tight-knit team and handled international banking clients.

In 2015, while on vacation, Fabio was desperately seeking peace-of-mind. This contemplation was a surrender to the Universe at a time when he had reached one of his lowest points, unable to break free from a downward spiral of thinking which had impacted his general well-being. His contemplation led him in the direction of prayer, mindfulness and Reiki which had a transformative impact on his life and would unwittingly prepare him to help others in the future.

During the pandemic, Fabio reached another inflection point - this time with his career in fintech. After taking a short leave-of-absence, he initiated a plan to resign from the company he had worked for after more than 20 years to start his own wellness practice. In 2021, Resting Bell Wellness Inc. was born.

Over the years, Fabio has attained several mindfulness certifications, including:

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
Mindful Self Compassion (MSC)
Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT)
Foundations of Applied Mindfulness Meditation (University of Toronto)
Applied Specialization in Mindfulness Meditation (University of Toronto)
Mindfulness Informed End of Life Care (University of Toronto)

Fabio is certified to teach several mindfulness courses and has developed his own Mindful Leadership Workshop geared towards professionals from all walks of life.

For nearly 2 years, Fabio volunteered as a mindfulness practitioner at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital (Sinai Health System) in Toronto, where he led mindfulness practices for both patients and caregivers.

From a Reiki perspective, Fabio is a certified Reiki Master in the Usui Shiki Ryoho and Tibetan Intuitive methods, and he is a Reiki Grandmaster (Level 9) in the DivineYu lineage. He is also a certified Reiki Master Teacher (Levels 1 to 3) and Holy Fire III Reiki Master Teacher.

In 2023, Fabio started a podcast on resilience cultivation called, The Stumbling Spirit. He is passionate about the topic of resilience and explores this topic from various angles. Fabio believes that we can all grow our capacity of resilience by listening to the stories, experiences and wisdom of others.

As humans, we are all stumbling spirits trying to find our way through this beautifully abundant and painfully turbulent existence. Fabio’s intention is to help others on their journey towards cultivating greater wellness and resilience through his services and podcast.

He was an invited guest speaker at Centennial College in Toronto two years in the row on the topic of resilience cultivation.

Fabio is grateful to all of his supporters, mentors, teachers, clients, students and podcast guests. He acknowledges that he would not have arrived here without them.
