Dina Baki is a designer and co-founder of kyū, a contemporary brand created in collaboration with her partner Rasha Abdallah. Her work sits at the intersection of design, philosophy, and material exploration, where abstract ideas are translated into tangible, handcrafted objects.

kyū was founded from a shared exploration between the two founders: how form can carry meaning beyond function, and how objects can reflect deeper structures that exist in nature and the universe. Rather than approaching design through trends or conventional luxury codes, Dina’s practice is rooted in observation of patterns, energy, and the relationship between structure and emotion.

Working closely with locally sourced materials and skilled craftsmanship, she embraces constraints as a creative foundation. This approach allows kyū to remain grounded in reality while still engaging with conceptual and often intangible ideas. Each piece becomes an interpretation of balance between precision and instinct, control and intuition.

Dina is also involved in shaping kyū’s narrative and visual direction, ensuring the brand remains cohesive in both concept and execution.

Her perspective on luxury challenges traditional definitions based on excess or status. Instead, she focuses on intention, construction, and meaning, creating objects that are not only designed to be worn, but to be experienced.

Through kyū, Dina continues to explore how design can act as a translation of invisible systems, whether emotional, structural, or universal, into objects that exist in the physical world.
